Porsche in the rain is also good
I like touring, which I admit to myself and others,Actually, besides sunny days, I also like driving in heavy rain.
Therefore, when you look at the forecast of heavy rain instead of light rain, you may want to go somewhere asexually. Why do you like heavy rain driving? I can't explain it well myselfI also like the atmosphere of the five senses, such as the atmosphere of rain, the water hitting the wiper, and the sound of rain hitting the roof. However, I also like the contrast between the harsh outside conditions and the comfortable inside conditions. (I'm sorry I'm too maniac)
Many owners of expensive cars such as Porsche do not ride on rainy days. I can understand that feeling very well.
It doesn't hurt immediately because it gets wet in the rain, but I also want to keep it clean and of high value.
However, theIn my case, the more I like the car, the more it runs in the rain and the distance it runs.Because I like it, I have no intention of selling it for the time being.
So.There is a stronger awareness of wanting to fully enjoy the car by using it up rather than its value and storage condition. However, if something deteriorates, I'm rather happy because I can get closer to the state of a new car by replacing the parts.
So, while watching the weather forecast, I ran 911 in the direction of the rain clouds.
From Sandable Clink to K77
I went to Sanda City, Hyogo Prefecture. I have named it "SundabulklinkI decided to go north starting with the free-running course.
First, drive from Takarazuka city toward Sanda with K33. The K33 is a very responsive winding as long as there is little traffic. By chance, there was no car blocking the front on that day, and I got a clear lap. The road surface is wet and runs up steep slopes in 2nd and 3rd speed main.
It is a wonderful 4x4 traction, and it is unique to Carrera 4 that you can take the plunge.
Run through the free-running section under the elevated Shin-Meishin Expressway to K323. From there, head north on K37, where there is little traffic and you can drive fast. Go from K309 to K308 and enjoy the rain winding to your heart's content. We stopped by Oike, a mother and child on the way, and took a short break.
This pond has an atmosphere like an old lake in Europe, and I like it very much.
Then, after that.Go north on the K12 Inagawa Gorge Line. This is also one of my favorite roads, as the area around the pass is very responsive.is. Cross the pass, pass through the rural village, and head west on R372.
Grab Tamba Sasayama City and enter K77. This K77 is also a famous road. Famous as a stopover spot for bike touringRoute 77There is also a cafe called, where you can enjoy everything from winding along the river to a slightly open road. From Hikamicho, drive 911 to K78's "Koharu Road".
K78 to R427
The rain is getting stronger and the visibility is poor. The climb to the K78 pass is like a river due to rain. Set the PDK to manual mode, apply a little torque instead of inertia, step on the accelerator, and actively distribute the torque to the front wheels. 911 runs up the pass as if there was no rain.
After all the power feeling of 3.8L is reliable.
There is plenty of room in any situation, and the Boxster GTS 3.4L accelerates enough even in a slightly crunchy place. The difference of 100ps is convincing.
After crossing the pass, a straight line goes down. It's raining, so it's a little restrained, but it's a very pleasant straight and wide road.Someday, it would be fun to run up this road with GT3 etc. While thinking, go out to R427 and head north.
Take a short break at the roadside station, Taka, and then drive on the return route of the road you came from.
Heavy rain highway
I ran through K78 "Koharu Road" and decided to return at high speed. I usually drive down the road, but since it was heavy rain, I took the highway to check the stability at high speed.
The rain is quite heavy. Run normally in normal mode and try cruising in 7th speed. Looking at the PTM torque distribution display displayed on the instrument panel,Torque is applied to the rear, and the front is about 10%.
So, when cruising slowly, it's not much different from the rear-wheel drive (RR) 911 in terms of feeling. In this case, rear-wheel drive992 WET modeI feel more secure.
Next, when I drop the PDK gear or switch to sports mode and accelerate, torque is applied to the front at once, and it seems that the front and rear distribution is about 4: 6. Also, when running in sports mode, it seems that the distribution to the front wheels is a little larger than in normal mode even when cruising.
I tried various things, but in conclusion,Even if it is a 4x4 on a heavy rain highway, the feeling is not so different from RR when cruising,When accelerating or driving aggressively, torque distribution is also applied to the front, and it seems that the original Carrera 4 system can be obtained with a sense of stability.
However, please do not fly too much on rainy days. Be careful especially when there are few tire grooves. Even if there are many grooves, it makes no sense from a certain depth of water. This is what I learned by running on the heavy rain Fuji Speedway.
Go down the highway, run through the winding road, and hurry home. This time it was a super short touring for about half a day, so it was only near, but I would like to take the opportunity to go on a trip with Carrera 4 GTS again.
The total mileage was 250.0km, the average speed was 46km / h, and the fuel consumption was 9.1km / L.
