I am a woman and I drive a Porsche 911 GT3 and a Boxster GTS, which one do you find more fun?

Reviews & Test Rides

GT3 after a long time

The other day I got to drive a 911 GT3 (manual) for the first time in almost two months.I am much more familiar with the clutch and shifting than before, and I can do it without any discomfort in those respects. The first time I saw the building, it was as if it had become a

It's just, sadly.GT3 and myself do not mesh at all.

If it's the BMW 320i that you normally drive, you'll get a "It's hard to climb a hill in 3rd gear.I'll drop a gear or two when I think, "I've got to do something."Looks like a bit of a stretch to run here. The driver can drive naturally, shifting up a gear when he or she feels the need to do so.

And as for the Boxster GTS, which is also a Porsche, you can raise the RPMs and listen to the sound of the engine, and feel a sense of oneness with the car.Oh that feels so good! You can run happily while being impressed with "the best of the best.

However, as for the GT3, I ended up driving it almost exclusively in 3rd gear on the Ashiu Driveway that day. Even my husband, who was riding in the front passenger seat, told me

Why, why are you driving in 3rd gear all the time? Why do you drive in 3rd gear all the time and use the engine brake to slow down? It's like a one-pedal electric car.The first is the "M" in the "M".

He said... I said, "Well, I don't know about myself, but I don't think GT3 and I match at all. I don't know how to drive it because we don't mesh at all.

Her husband, on the other hand

It's not about how you should drive. What RPM do I want to drive at?The standard is "I'll just drive normally according to that. You can shift gears and drive normally as usual according to that.

He said.

(-_-) Taking this advice, I stepped on the gas pedal a little and tried to drive with the revs up, but I had no sense of being able to control the car within my own hands.I went back to the original fixed 3rd gear again. To my husband.

No really, what's the big deal? Are you that scared of the GT3? What's the difference between a Boxster and a GT3, even though they are the same Porsche?

I was asked again, and as I drove, I thought about it a lot. The following is my own personal reflection, but I would like to write a little about it.

Porsche Boxster GTS or 911 GT3

Both the Boxster GTS (MT) and the 911 GT3 (MT) are fun cars.It seems to me that the "kind of fun" is completely different.

As for the Boxster GTS, "Cars that offer attraction-like fun. It's more like...it's a convertible, so you can feel the wind and be one with nature as you drive.

(In a good way)The dynamic performance of the engine, the pleasant sound of the engine when accelerating, the bobbing backfire sound when the accelerator is released, and the blipping "BOOM! when the accelerator pedal is released, and the roar of the blipping "booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

And then...By opening the roof, the driver can feel the sound and drive with his or her whole body.

In other words, it is purely a matter of "drive a carBesides the "fun" factor, the sound of the engine, the wind, and the scenery add to the fun and excitement of the ride, which seems to me to be like riding on some kind of attraction.

The 911 GT3, on the other hand, is a "A car that expert drivers can enjoy. The Boxster GTS is a "one of a kind" car. There is none of the staging of the Boxster GTS, and the driver becomes one with the car, and is purely a "Driving the car itselfIt's more like a car that pursues the "I'm not a car....

The GT3 has power, tremendous acceleration, RR, and handling is more agile than a regular Porsche, even after a little driving. The GT3 is completely different. It's like a race car.I felt like, "ButThe GT3 is the one that the driver can feel "fun" by having the driving skill to freely control this tremendous car.I think.

So now, thanks to you, I'm used to driving a manual car itself, and I can say, "BMW 320i, I've learned to drive pretty good.My husband has told me, "I'm not a good person," but that's just the way it is.

Just being able to "drive a manual car" to the extent that you can get a pass in a driving school is a different story from "being able to drive a car".

It is.

I remember that I was once in Ashiu Driveway, and I was told that I had to go to theMr. A gave me a GT3 from a friend of his, but he said I couldn't handle it, so he returned it back to the original owner.I have heard that "I see," but now I find myself thinking, "I see.

We'll start with the Boxster GTS.

I was in the 911 GT3 that day and had the following conversation with the GT3 throughout the day

Me: I'm sorry, but I don't feel like my skills are up to it yet, so I'll be driving at a leisurely pace in 3rd gear today.
GT3: Oh, I see. Well, I guess so, Mina-san. Let's do one-pedal driving today, shall we?
Me: Yes, let's go with that.

Like... (laughs) I couldn't help but say to my husband, "I mean, why do people keep asking for and buying GT3s! Can people even drive a car like this?I'm not sure why I'm getting all pissy and asking questions like, "Why are you doing this?

Of course, I think advanced people who can drive the GT3 will buy it, but in reality, they won't be thinking too much about whether they can drive the GT3 or not.Buy a car because it has a good resale value, has power, is fast, and is a higher grade car.I think it is. Well, it would be easier to drive if it were PDK.

My husband said.

However, I don't think you have to think this far ahead to get on board, and I don't think you have to say, "Why don't you just take it easy and enjoy GT3 more? You might say, "I'm a bit of an idiot," but this is probably due to my silly-serious nature in this area...

It's no good driving a GT3 unless you can drive an RR car better.

I am always thinking about this.

In that sense, it might be a good opportunity to go to a Porsche driving school (PTE: Porsche Track Experience) in November in a Boxster GTS.

First.Once you feel the power and limits of the Porsche Boxster, and have the confidence that you can control it with a manual transmission, you will be able to make the most of your time with the Porsche Boxster.I think it will change the way I look at GT3.

I don't have to take it so seriously, I don't want to be a racer (-_-)...I have to remind myself these days.

I always look forward to your articles. My name is Akonori.
This is the first time I am commenting on this issue because it was the same as what I usually feel.

I also have a Voxpa and a GT3 (both MT) and they are totally different.
Voxpa is the entertainment machine and GT3 is the driving machine.
I know what you mean about people who have returned their GT3. On public roads, it's a little too powerful, and if you try to drive it comfortably, you'll end up going ridiculously fast, so it's a bit of a saver. →It's not fun. As a result, box spas are more fun.
Perhaps my attention is focused on the controls and I lack the ability to feel them. Therefore, I think GT3 still needs more practice in feeling the controls.

So I look forward to your next article.

      >I also have a Voxpa and a GT3 (both MT) and they are totally different.
      >Boksupa is an entertainment machine and GT3 is a driving machine.
Oh, exactly, you are right, that expression fits very well.

      >On public roads, it has a little too much power, and if you try to drive it comfortably, you'll end up going ridiculously fast, so it's a bit of a saver.
Yes, it has too much power, but on ordinary roads it doesn't show off its power at all, and you end up just driving it sloppily.
In this respect, the Boxster has just the right amount of power and is a lot of fun.

However, I think it would be fun to ride the GT3, so I will continue to practice when I can.
Thank you for your continued support!

    Hmmm, that is troubling.
I own a 981GT4 and a 991.2GT3, and to be honest, I'm more afraid of the GT4 because I can't read the limit area.
Perhaps the 295 rear tires, which are three sizes larger than the Cayman body, are over-specified for the Cayman.
I thought that the body rigidity could not keep up with it and the rear area was shifting.
(This is considering either reinforcing the rear with 718 parts or taking the plunge and dropping to 265, the same as the Voxpa)
The body of the 991 is extremely rigid and can be stepped on without worrying about gaps, so if it's just speed, then it's a good choice.
    GT3 runs faster.
So which is more enjoyable from a sensory standpoint? It's both, isn't it?
981 for mid-like cornering and 991 for bouncy acceleration with RR traction.

Both are hard to throw away.
As for recommendations, 981 goes around corners nicely, while 991 runs (pleasantly) sharply. The corner APEX is rather slow.
Why don't you enjoy the start-up acceleration? For your information

      I see...it is deep....
      In my case, I think it is simply the mental part that the power of GT3 is so great that it scares me ^^;

      >Which is more enjoyable for the senses? This is both, isn't it (laughs)?
      Oh yes!
My husband often says the same thing that Kazu Golden Hills wrote.

I will take what you wrote into consideration and try to run next time.
      Thank you!

It's so cool!!! The latest GT3 and the 964!!! And MT!
I will try my best to become a woman who can handle a Porsche as brilliantly as Konitama.

Thank you for your continued support.

    *Smithing on an old article.

I used to be the one who got to ride in a 991.1 GT3 (PDK) and a 981 Cayman GTS (MT) PR car for an hour each,
I laughed exactly the same as Mina's comment!

GT3 was too much for me, or rather, too powerful and high definition.
And yet it's tremendously easy to drive, nostalgic, and comfortable...
Have you been bowled over by the too-perfect part of the

It was the only Porsche that I felt like I was being allowed to drive rather than enjoying,
981 (Cayman) GTS with just the right amount of +/- everything,
It's fun to step on, it's fun to change gears, and it's fun to hold in your hand,
I got the feeling that I wanted to bring out more,

If I could have two cars, I would want a model 3 and this one.
It was one that I liked very much.

After having ridden them all, if I had to summarize them all in one vehicle, I would.
I had concluded that it was the first Macan Turbo,
I remember marveling at all of them, as I would expect from Porsche!

Thank you also for the X!
Thank you for reading this old article!

I am so glad to hear that your impressions were similar!

I'm already afraid to ride the GT3,
As you say, I bow down to you (laughs).

I wonder how great a person can ride that thing.

The 981GTS was a lot of fun and had just the right amount of power,
It's really fun because I have room to maneuver too!

I even asked my husband not to sell the 981.
(I don't drive it at all because it's my husband's car and he takes care of it, lol.)

The first Macan Turbo is great!
It has a strong Porsche taste, it's reasonably stout, the engine sounds just right, and I got to see it the other day,
      I like it...! I thought.

      Keep up the good work!
