(2) We want to stop young people from leaving their cars.
Can you tell us about the HOC (Heisei Owners Club) that you founded?
Yes, we are a group of car enthusiasts born in the Heisei era. HOC (Heisei Owners Club) is a group of car enthusiasts born in the Heisei era.
I've long been talking with a fellow car enthusiast and a friend my age who drives a Porsche 964, "It would be interesting to form a group of young car enthusiasts. We were talking about "Well, let's make it anyway," and we decided to make it.
Then, about four years ago, in November 2015, EPM(Exciting Porsche Meetings)HOC" was launched at the timing of our participation in Yokohama.
I was mainly active on Minkara at the time, so I started by creating a group on Minkara and began recruiting members.
At first, was it "Minkara" instead of "twitter" as it is now?
Yes, I was. I was not yet on twitter at that time. In fact, I started doing Minkara even before I bought my first car in my life. What should I buy for my first car?I wrote an article in Minkara with the contents such as "The first time I saw the first time I saw the first time I saw the first time.
Then, after much deliberation, I chose the 986 Boxster S (MT) as my first car in life.
From there, I became friends with all the Porsche owners in Minkara, and one owner told me, "I'm very happy to be here. There is an event at the Wangan Nagashima PA for Porsche drivers to get together, so join us!and invited me to participate in their events.
Suddenly a Porsche rider debuts at the event!
That's right. The person who invited me was a famous Porsche driver in Minkara, driving a 993 Turbo.
Of course, I had never participated in a Porsche event before, and since I had just taken delivery of my Boxster and was not used to driving it, it was suddenly a long distance event for me.Then I'll pick you up on the way. We'll go together in my car.He said.
Despite meeting for the first time, we met up at Ebina SA, and from there, I was given a ride in the passenger seat on the way to Mie.
After that, we met up with everyone at the various SAs as we headed out, and while there were only about 10 cars at Hamamatsu, the number gradually grew to 50, and by the time we reached Wangan Nagashima, there were about 200 cars.
I met a lot of people there as well.Touring is Fun! Cars are seriously fun!I was very impressed.
However, I attended several car events and meetings, and there were almost no young people there. They were all much older than me.
However, it was fun to talk with these people, and it was interesting to broaden my world, but gradually
."I wonder if there are more car enthusiasts my age..."
I genuinely began to think, "I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do.
I was talking about this with a friend of mine who is a car enthusiast of the same generation, and we decided, "Well, let's form a group of young car enthusiasts," and we started HOC during the EPM.
I see, that's how it goes....
At first, we had a little get-together and went touring with other Minkara members, and we had about 10 members, but it was hard to get more than 10 people together.
After much thought.I realized that there were "not many car enthusiasts of the younger generation" in Minn Kara at that time.
So I set up a twitter page. There are a lot of young generation car lovers within twitter. As I learned about and exchanged information with them, I gradually found twitter more and more interesting and shifted to twitter.
We now have about 50 members in the HOC group. We now get together at Tatsumi or Shibaura every now and then, or go touring.
HOC is also located in Kyushu, I believe?
Yes, a Porsche driver who I had befriended on twitter said to me, "I want to build HOC in Kyushu too.I was asked for advice on how to do this. Oh, that's totally fine!" And with that, Kyushu HOC was immediately launched and now has about 20 members.
This has allowed me to visit Kyushu more often as I have made friends and connections there.
