Why my Porsche-loving husband doesn't drive a supercar - what I learned from owning a McLaren 650S
Published Date: 07.10.2018
What I thought when I owned a McLaren 650S.
In fact, my husband used to own a McLaren 650S.(This ↓)
'I wasn't interested in supercars, so why did I buy one?'When I asked him, he said that he was interested in McLaren because of its good brand image and the rave reviews in various magazines about how comfortable it was to ride. and "It's comfortable!" in test ride reviews in various magazines.
Just the first day I got on it.I'm not going to lie about how comfortable the McLaren is! A Lamborghini Uracán or a Ferrari 488 is much easier to drive and much more comfortable!"And then he came back (laughs).
Maybe that's the kind of car that gets a reputation because it's easier to drive than the spartan supercars of the past, butI compared three cars on the same day, including a McLaren 650S, with an acquaintance who drives a Lamborghini Uracan and a Ferrari 488, and the McLaren was the most tiring. It seems.
Why the McLaren 650S is tired
Why are you so tired?"? My husband said this at the time when I asked him.
Well, first of all...First, engine noise.I'm sure you're right. When you're stuck in traffic and idling all the time, it's like being at a construction site all the time.
And. I've been in the passenger seat a few times, and drove the Ashiari Driveway and the Hanshin Expressway once, butI was certainly tired of the sound. It was more like a dull sound that stuck in my ears for a long time, rather than an explosive sound. When I finished driving and got out of the car, I felt as if I had finally been freed from that sound.
Also, the handling was the sharpest and most interesting I've ever experienced. After all, the brakes are too heavy, and that is a little difficult for women to drive.I wonder.
Also, my husband said that he
It's like driving directly on the road, it's tiring. That said, the McLaren doesn't have any weird shocks either, but the Ferrari and Lambo are smoother.
and
It turns so much when turning at intersections, but it's tiring because the steering wheel is not resilient.
I guess that's what I'm talking about. But on the other hand.
McLaren is a great car to drive on the track.I think it's a great car. It's an athletic car and I think it's a lot of fun. But I don't think it's a car for everyday use. But that's a matter of personal taste, so it's a matter of whether it's right for you or not.
He said.
What does my husband want in a car?
My husband is both a car enthusiast and a driver.I want to drive, but I can't for too long, or I feel stressed."He said the car would not fit.I don't like it if the car itself is not attractive and the driving experience is not enjoyable. The reason for this is because the company is a "good" company.
In this regard, the Porsche is a sports car that satisfies both. In fact, the Porsche Principal(Booklet mailed to you after your Porsche purchase)states it this way.
No other sports car can take you shopping after a race at the Nürburgring. No matter how many people are in the car, Porsche creates only one thing: a sports car for everyday pleasures. A sports car for everyday pleasure.
I see. So I am sure that my husband will never buy a super car in the future ^^;

He is just the opposite pattern.
I have driven four Ferraris and one Lamborghini, but I have never bought a Porsche.
as a reason
I'm not thrilled with the appearance of the Porsche.
Riding pleasure is less than Ferrari Lambo
I don't care much about things like going fast on the track.
The 911 is practically a two-seater as well.
I don't feel that everyday use is stressful just because it is a Ferrari Lambo. Usually shopping is no problem, the bumps are a concern.
etc., etc.
I guess it is a preference after all, and I am by no means disrespecting Porsche.

Thank you for your comment!
Indeed, I guess it is a matter of taste after all.
I can drive a car that I am comfortable with and that I like.
I thought it would be best.
After reading the article here, and I think it was mentioned in other articles, I don't think you should buy the GT3RS as a replacement for the GT3.
Maybe it is the same feeling with McLaren.
The noise of the transmission is so loud that you might think you are riding a tractor in the rice paddies, especially when you start out cold.
It is a pain when running under 2500 rpm in the city.
The suspension is also hard, and I sometimes wondered if I would get whiplash from the bumps.
However, the high-pitched muffler sound is numbing once you bring it to the track.
But if that is the number 1 TP3T of our ride, we may be happier with the GT3.
I just don't know what kind of car the 992-based GT3RS will be, though.

>I don't think you should buy a GT3RS as a replacement for a GT3. Maybe it's the same feeling with McLaren.
I see... The suspension seems to be very stiff...and it looks like it will be very difficult on the way to the circuit...
But to be able to drive a GT3RS on the track would be so sweet!
I hope to have the opportunity to ride in the passenger seat at a race track someday.
Thank you for your continued support!
