Reviews & Test Rides

first partIn the following section, we reported on the delivery of the car, its interior and exterior, and our impressions of one-pedal driving in town.
In this issue, we would like to focus on our impressions on highways and winding roads.

Impression of the highway: just like a "Nozomi

On the highway, the impression is exactly like the "Nozomi" of the Shinkansen bullet train. The car accelerates smoothly from the toll booth and reaches cruising speed in no time.
With no engine noise, it is so quiet that only the wind noise can be heard; it is as if you are riding on a bullet train.

Straight line stability and high speed stability are also outstanding, completely on the level of European cars. The tires firmly grip the road surface and steer the vehicle as desired without any displacement. Since it is faithful to human movement, the driver will not feel tired even on long drives.

So how does it compare to our Taikan?Model 3 has more instantaneous power.I feel like I'm in the middle of aWhen I stepped on the gas pedal and looked at the speedometer after a while, the speed of the Taikan was totally higher than the Taikan.speed range. This indicates that the Taikan has no sense of speed, and the higher the speed range, the more quintessential the Taikan's flatness and lack of sense of speed.

The standard 18-inch wheels would be Michelin at this time, and there is a significant difference in range between the 18-inch and the optional 19-inch wheels, with the 18-inch wheels extending the range by about 40 km or so.

The autopilot function is excellent, and I get the impression that it is better done than what is being said on the internet. For more information, please refer to the following tweets.

Compared with Porsche on winding roads! Shocking driving experience beyond your imagination!

Having experienced the comfort, quietness, and dynamic performance of the Model 3 in city driving and on the highway, the next thing I wanted to try was driving on a winding road. We headed for Ashiyu Driveway, where I usually drive my Porsche.

At first, the car was driven in comfort mode. Even in comfort mode, I could feel the car's ample power and handling performance, and it turned curves stably. I was impressed that the car is a perfect example of a sports sedan, and I was able to drive it comfortably.

Up to this point, I had been in love with the Model 3's basic performance, just as I had been in love with its city driving.

Then, after passing the toll booth, I switched from comfort to standard mode and put the steering wheel in sport mode.

Then the car changed.

It is as if a sleeping beast has awakened, accelerating furiously. When you step on the accelerator, you feel the Gs pressing against the seat, and in no time at all the speed increases. Its acceleration is more than that of the Taikan 4S, or even closer to that of the Taikan Turbo.

Entering a curve, the car shows unimaginable nimbleness. It responds accurately to steering operation and traces a targeted line. There is little roll, and moreover, the roll stops at a constant angle. The car firmly grasps the road surface, and since there is no instability in the roll at all, there is no blurring of the load from side to side. The car turns in a really stable manner.

The sensation is like a flying carpet that stays on the ground as it races through the corners. It is a little different from the sensation of absorbing the road surface and directly feeling the ground contact of the tires, as in a Porsche. The Model 3, however, shows a completely different dimension of cornering performance.

When exiting a corner, the powerful traction of the 4WD takes effect and the car accelerates quickly.
Combined with the sharp response of the gas pedal and motor, the feeling of acceleration is truly exhilarating, or perhaps I should say painful.

I honestly didn't expect the car to be as much fun to drive on winding roads.I was truly impressed with how great Tesla is!" I was truly impressed.

Until now, it was Porsche sports cars such as the 911 and Boxster that taught us the joy of driving on winding roads. However,The Model 3 took a completely different approach and showed us the joys of driving on winding roads.

It was a fresh sensation, like experiencing a new game.

Beyond Porsche?

So has the Model 3 surpassed Porsche?

Of course, Porsche is a great car, and no other car can match the unique feeling it has inherited from the 911. In fact, there are many aspects of the car that Tesla cannot match, such as the feeling of the tires on the ground, the road surface conditions, and the feedback of the car's behavior.

However, theThe Model 3 is a car with a whole new set of values. It has the potential to overturn the conventional concept of a car, just as the smartphone has eradicated the mobile phone.

Aerodynamics is also taken into consideration. This is why I like imported cars.

Porsche values the unique Porsche driving formings inherited from the 911 even in the Taikan. However, the car is not a "911",Tesla is creating the behavior and feel of the car from scratch, without being bound by tradition.I think so. That's why they are able to create such innovative and shocking cars.

The Model 3 is truly a "game changer.

I am looking forward to the car life from now on!

It's only been a few days since I took delivery of my Model 3, but already I'm hooked on this car.
I am really looking forward to my future car life.

The company Tesla is still evolving. I am really excited to see what kind of cars they will produce and what kind of updates they will come up with in the future.

I will continue to keep a close eye on Tesla's progress, and as a car enthusiast who enjoys both engine-powered and electric vehicles, I will continue to share their appeal on my blog.
