Introduction - What is the Porsche Track Experience?
Porsche Track Experience is the official Porsche driving school.
There are various levels of courses, from beginner to advanced, that one can participate in according to one's driving skills.
I recently attended this Porsche Track Experience master course for the second time, the first time was before Corona, so it's been a while since I've attended.
I would like to share my experience with you, as the course content was changed and the program was even more comprehensive than the previous one.
Master Course Changes - Enrichment and Small Class Size
The Master Course is the most advanced Porsche Track Experience course currently offered in Japan. In order to participate, you must have completed the other courses.
This master course was considerably changed compared to the previous one.First of all, the price was higher than before, about 330,000 yen, but the number of participants was smaller and I had more opportunities to run.
We found this to be a very attractive change.
Also, the course content had changed dramatically. Before, it was mainly practiced in a large parking lot with pylons,This time, the focus was on serious practice using short courses and gymkhana courses. This helped us to visualize the corners and course taking and learn more practical techniques.
Practical Exercises - Attack the S-Curve Corner!
In the master course, students complete a variety of practice routines before hitting the circuit. I was particularly impressed by,S-curve corner practice.
Accelerate at full throttle, step on the brake, and enter the S-curve at full throttle. While switching between the left and right corners, the car exits the corner by accelerating at full throttle again at the end of the corner. This S-curve corner is very difficult and physical.
There are various other practice menus, and they run from morning to night. They run all day long, with breaks in between, but with little rest. At the end of the day, they run the main course unassigned, but they are already exhausted.
Thanks to the driving school, I was about 1 second faster than at the March driving school, and I was able to consistently set the best lap at that time. I have grown a little, but I still make a lot of mistakes, blackmail!#718 Cayman T pic.twitter.com/icU1TvddcP

Still, the feeling is full of fulfillment.Because I definitely feel that my driving skills are improving.
Professional techniques are astonishing - What is the secret of cornering?
Another exciting part of the Master Course is the ride-along experience with a professional instructor.
They can drive the same Porsche they normally drive on the circuit. It is the ultimate luxury to be able to experience the driving techniques of an instructor up close.
I was particularly impressed by the quick timing of steering and corner exits. The instructor had exquisite timing in stepping on the gas pedal, which was totally different from my driving.
By the time the car exits the corner, it is already straight. If I step on the accelerator pedal, it accelerates tremendously and heads toward the next corner. In contrast, my driving is still in the middle of the corner, dizzy and accelerating.
Experiencing the instructor's driving, I learned that the secret of cornering lies in exiting. To do so, everything must be driven in a calculated manner from the moment of entry.
What I gained from participating - the necessary preparation and skills for circuit driving
After participating in the Master Course, I once again felt the depth of circuit driving. It requires not only skill but also strong mental strength.
It is physically demanding and requires constant concentration. However, I believe that challenging my limits in this way will certainly help me grow.
What I gained from the master course this time was the necessary preparation for circuit driving and many driving techniques.
The cornering technique was particularly eye-opening.He feels that if he makes the techniques he learns from the instructor his own, he will surely become a better driver.
Participation in the Master Course is a must for private circuit drivers. The opportunity to receive direct instruction from a professional is hard to come by.
It is a privilege to own a Porsche. I hope many people will experience it.It will surely open up a world of Porsche that you never knew existed.
