How does my husband rate the Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid? How does it compare to the Cayenne?
Published on: 2021.01.26
Panamera, also experience the Sport mode.
The engine in the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid is not a GTS or turbocharged V8 engine.2.9L V6 engine, same as 4S, etc.It is. This is probably why the nose is light and turns quickly.
And will the movement be somewhat RR-like due to the heavy battery under the trunk?
Originally, Porsche must have a secret sauce for controlling rear-heavy cars, which was cultivated with the 911. Perhaps they made full use of this know-how in the tuning of this hybrid model.
No kidding, the level of finish is admirable. It is.
from the middle (of)Switch to "SPORT" mode. The V6 engine wakes up suddenly and, as if tuned to the motor's rotation, instantly adjusts its rpm, suppressing shocks caused by torque fluctuations and smoothly connecting power.
This is the place. The Tiptronic in the Cayenne is great, but the PDK in the Panamera is also wonderfully controlled. It is. I think the engineers in charge of the control programming of this PDK are quite talented. It is almost as good as Tiptronic.
At least in normal driving, you can't tell the switch between motor and engine. If you drive in a consciously jerky manner, you will indeed feel it a little more than the Tiptronic, but it is wonderfully smooth.
The V6 engine, with the motor assisting, is very powerful. The PDK is a very fast gearshift system. Even with manual control of gear shifting via paddle shifters, the speed of shifting that only PDK can provide is still there. The Cayenne's Tiptronic is also quite fast here, but it is indeed a PDK.
As the engine speed is increased, the motor boosts and the torque increases considerably. While not quite the violent acceleration of the Panamera Turbo, it feels on par with the 4S and GTS in terms of experience.
And the engine sound is great. This unit does not have a sport exhaust. The muffler is stock, but the tone of this 2.9L V6 engine is very pleasant. The higher the rpm, the louder the sound, and the more audible it is even with the stock exhaust.
Incidentally, the 3.0L V6 in the Cayenne E-Hybrid is a completely different engine from the 3.0L V6 in the Cayenne E-Hybrid, although the displacement is similar.Comparing the 2.9L V6 to the 3.0 V6, the 2.9L sounds and feels sportier. The 3.0 engine is also good enough, but this one seems to be a bit more torque-oriented or more focused on practical usability.
Step on the brake before a corner to decelerate. The solid deceleration power that lives up to the Porsche name is still present here.It is. In the case of the hybrid model, much of the deceleration is done using regenerative braking, and finally the car is stopped by a physical braking device, which seems to feel a little different in the Cayenne and Panamera.
becauseCayenne has stronger regenerative braking. It is probably tuned to try to recover more electricity. Therefore, the Cayenne's brakes are quite strong, not to say PCCB. In contrast. The Panamera does not have that much regenerative strength.
You can think of it as having the same braking power as a regular Porsche.
According to the owner, "Panamera seems to be tuned to improve fuel economy by not slowing down rather than regenerating. He said, "I'm not a fan of this.
However, theReally sporty sedanThe Panamera was originally designed to be taken on a winding road. Originally, the Panamera could be taken on a windingIt feels like you are driving a smaller car, but this hybrid model is much stronger.
It feels nimble like a 992 911, with torque and handling characteristics that make it easy to drive anywhere in town.
This is probably due to the motor's instantaneous maximum torque. It gives the driver a world view and feeling that cannot be achieved with an engine.
I had the opportunity to test drive this car and I really liked it. My wife is also a big fan of this car.If I had been on this when I bought the Cayenne, I honestly would have been lost.If I didn't have to be aware of the 5 seater, I would have gone with the Panamera. I think it is such a well-made car.
If anyone is looking to buy a Panamera.E-hybrid models are recommended. It's a good idea. Because it is cheap, fast, and fun. If I were to buy a Panamera again, I would definitely consider the E-Hybrid model first.
Let me assure you that it is such a great car.

As for comments, nice to meet you.
Panamera 4S (971) is about to be inspected soon and I'm considering switching as an option.
I've been looking at other cars, driving them around, visiting them...
As companies refrain from developing internal combustion engines in advance of HVs and AVs, a change in flavor with electronic control is not far off...
I'm leaning towards not extending my purchasing power, and riding it through the inspection process.
The sales person in charge of PC is supposed to strongly recommend the hybrid and offer various conditions.
Three generations of Panameras? I wish I could be more creative, but the Panamera for everyday use is pretty hard to get rid of.
This article was very helpful at that time!
I'm ready to give the hybrid a test drive.
Please tell your husband that I will be very happy to help him.

Thank you!
>My purchasing interest is not growing, and I'm leaning toward riding it through the inspection process.
>The sales person in charge of the PC is strongly pushing for a hybrid, and should be able to offer you various terms and conditions.
Panamera 4S, looks too good to be true, I don't think I'll be motivated to buy another car... ^^..;
I am sure it will be smooth, powerful, balanced and wonderful.
Hybrid, please try it ^^.
It is very easy to use, and the frequency of filling up with gasoline in daily use has also decreased considerably.
>Please tell your husband that I will be very happy to help him.
Thank you! We will let you know!
Dear MINA, Sir.
It has been a while.
I am a dealer sales person from Kanto who met your husband early last year at the Ashi Ari observatory. (At the time, I was driving a Golf 7.5 and was allowed to ride beside him in a 911 GT3 Touring.)
I know it's too late now, but congratulations on the birth of your third child!
We, too, have a second child and are struggling daily to raise our child.
I've been looking forward to seeing what kind of car you've chosen for us!
Cayenne is the perfect choice for your family right now!
I was wondering if I could offer you a car, but I decided not to because the distance is not easy to reach.
I just wanted to comment for the first time in a while to give you some guidance on the V6 2.9L engine and the V6 3 liter engine mentioned in the article!
In fact, it is an engine jointly developed by Porsche and Audi (sorry if you know this), and both engines are called EA839 series engines.
The V6, 2.9L twin turbo engine is installed in the Audi RS4 Avant, S6, S7, etc. and delivers 450PS600Nm. The twin turbochargers in the V-bank are very responsive, and the short stroke makes it a fun engine to drive.
It's also an environmentally friendly engine that warms up quickly!
I am very interested in the combination of that engine and the hybrid since it is also used in the Panamera E Hybrid.
The V6,3L single turbocharged engine is used in the Audi S4, S5, SQ5, A6.A8 and other models in a wide variety of applications, and can be used for everything from city driving to cruising to the track.
I don't have as in-depth a knowledge of the subject as your husband.
I would be happy to talk to you at length when you are settled and free to move around (laughs).
Always looking forward to your exciting posts!
Hope to see you again!

Thank you very much!
And thank you for your comments.
>We, too, have a second child and are struggling daily to raise our child.
Oh congratulations!
When you have one more child, childcare becomes many times busier ^^;
And thank you for telling us about the engine!
My husband mentioned it here and there, but I didn't really listen to it (sorry lol).
Now I understand it better!
Every day, there's so much I don't know.
I am learning a lot, and I realize that cars are very deep.
Please come back to Ashiyu when you get settled, even if it is far away.
Thank you for your continued support!
Mr. Mina and Master
I always look forward to your blog updates. Thank you for the valuable information.
I have been an owner of the Panamera 4 e-Hybrid 2020 model since last summer, so I am honestly happy to hear such praise for the same car model as myself. Thank you very much!
After test driving the Taikan (although I don't think it is in its full potential since I only drive it around town), I was reminded of the value of the Panamera Hybrid and think it is the best choice in the transitional period to a full EV. As you pointed out, the V6 2.9L twin turbo produces a wonderful tone even with the normal exhaust, and unlike Japanese hybrids that focus on eco-friendliness, the way it asserts itself when the engine starts is a perfect combination of an EV and a gasoline engine.
According to the PC sales staff, the Panamera is a minor player in Japan with the lowest volume, but I'm thinking how nice it would be if Japanese people could look at this car without preconceived notions. By the way, sapphire blue is nice! I envy you because I am an orthodox Carrara White.
Mr. SevenWinds.
Thank you for visiting my blog!
We are also very happy to hear that you found our blog helpful in your Panamera purchase.
Thank you!
The Panamera in Carrara White is...
It's so beautiful, like a royal road.
Yesterday, at a gas station, I saw a Carrara White Panamera being washed.
It was really beautiful.
Hybrid and Panamera are a crazy good match.
For such a big and heavy car, it was totally stress-free and pleasant.
Once again, I was amazed.
I hope we can continue to disseminate information at our own pace!
Thank you for your cooperation.
