Porsche Design's new chronograph

When Porsche launches a new car, Porsche Design is said to be establishing a pattern of launching a corresponding watch. Last week, as Porsche unveiled its latest 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 Touring, Porsche Design also announced the new Chronograph 911 GT3 and Chronograph 911 GT3 Touring.

These new watches are designed for buyers of the new Porsche 911 GT3 or 911 GT3 Touring Package and are said to feature the ability to be customized to the car's specifications. Designed around the concept of a "sports car on the wrist," these timepieces are based on the Chronotimer Series 1, which carries on the spirit of Porsche Design founded in 1972.

High-performance features and sophisticated design

The new Chronograph 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 Touring are said to be made of lightweight titanium, with a case 42 mm in diameter and 15.3 mm thick. They are available with a glass bead-blasted finish or matte black titanium carbide coating. Sapphire crystals are used on the front and back, with a titanium screw-in crown and pushers on the right side; the watch is said to be water resistant to 100 meters.

These watches are said to feature car-matching and online customizability. In addition to the case finish, they offer a choice of matte or black bezels and a choice of pulsometer, tachymeter, or minute scale.

Highly customizable dials and movements

The new Porsche Design Chronograph 911 GT3 model is said to feature a new pattern called the "GT dial" with a hexagonal structure. This design is said to recall the lightweight materials used in motorsports. The same design can also be found on the instrument panel of the 911 GT3 when the Sport Chrono GT clock is selected.

The dial layout is said to include bold indexes, yellow rings, and black rhodium-plated hour and minute hands with Superluminova. The chronograph hands are said to be available in Performance (white), Essence (black), and GT (yellow) colors, while the seconds disc at 9 o'clock is said to have the words "911 GT3" and a checkered flag design.

The movement is said to be a COSC-certified Porsche Design WERK 01.200. The movement is said to be an in-house caliber with flyback function, developed in cooperation with Sellita, oscillating at 4 Hz and with a 48-hour power reserve.
