I prefer the Cayenne to the Porsche 911 | What it feels like to own two cars

Cayenne to Fuji Speedway
The other day.Participated in a driving event sponsored by "911DAYS" magazine and my husband ran the 992 in wet mode.I wrote an article about this.
I followed in my Cayenne E-Hybrid and drove about 1,000 km round trip from my home to Fuji Speedway and back.(including transportation to and from the hotel)ran.
The road was mostly highway, but this was the first time I had driven such a long distance alone in a Cayenne.
Before.Panamera Turboand ... andBMW320iI have driven the Cayenne from my home to the Fuji Speedway and back in a Cayenne, and I would like to write about my impressions of the Cayenne, including how it differed from that trip.
Incidentally, the Cayenne had been on winter tires this winter, but we switched to summer tires just before heading out.
Impressions from a long distance drive in a Cayenne
My impression after a long drive in the Cayenne can be summed up in one word: "ultra-comfortable".
Smooth and quiet ride
I've blogged many times before about the smooth ride of the current Cayenne. The ride on the highway is really smooth and smooth, yet very quiet inside the car.It was.
It had the least road noise and wind noise of any Porsche I have ever driven, and I realized that not being able to hear such noises has a considerable impact on comfort when driving long distances.
Driver's eye level
The driver's high eye level allowed me to drive long distances in a relaxed manner and I was not as tired as I thought I would be. When I drove a long distance in a Panamera before, I also felt "Not too tired.I was under the impression that it was "the best way to go," but in the case of the Cayenne, it was even easier than that.
Now that I think about it.Compared to the Cayenne, the Panamera has a lower driver's eye level and a stronger sports car element. Also, our Panamera was turbocharged, which made me feel likeA mode that makes you want to step on the accelerator pedal.I think it had become "the" thing to do.
In this respect, the Cayenne was basically a relaxed and comfortable driving experience.
Stability on any road surface
Both on the way there and on the way back, the crosswind was quite strong, but as one would expect from a four-wheel drive vehicle, the Cayenne was very stable. Sometimes, when the wind was quite strong, the steering wheel would shake, but it was not at all at a "scary" level.
The Panamera was also quite stable with its four-wheel drive, but in addition, the Cayenne SUV was "aOff-road is perfect. It was very reassuring to have the peace of mind of being able to say "I'm here, I'm here, I'm here.
When we went out for dinner in the Cayenne, it was like driving through a typhoon with heavy rain and wind at its peak, but the puddles on the road were nothing to worry about. As long as I drove safely and at a speed within the bounds of common sense, I had no problems.
The Cayenne was such a reliable car. This time, I realized once again that this is not the case.
early (in the day, etc.)
The Cayenne E-Hybrid is fast. When accelerating on the highway, the car accelerates smoothly and powerfully when the driver puts it in Sport mode and presses down hard on the accelerator pedal.
It weighs over two tons, and the other day I had three children in the back seat and even a heavy suitcase in the trunk, yet there was not an ounce of heaviness in the acceleration.
."Cayenne E-Hybrid starts out smooth and fastAnd as one of my husband's acquaintances and the dealer said, "It's really great to have a motor assist, isn't it?
Also, the previousIn the case of the Panamera Turbo, once the accelerator pedal is pressed down, the vehicle sinks into the ground, and the tremendous acceleration is so frightening that it seems as if the ground is being scraped away. But the Cayenne accelerates with just the right amount of power, which was also pleasant.
Poor fuel economy for a hybrid.
Porsche's hybrid vehicles are...Improved driving performance with motor assist rather than fuel economyI guess I shouldn't be looking for good fuel economy since it is said that the emphasis is on... but the Cayenne E-Hybrid's fuel economy is not good.
Fully charged(Our house is shown as being able to travel about 28-30 km)In this case, the car can be driven without using gasoline, but the electricity runs out quickly when accelerating or climbing hills, so gasoline was the main mode of driving this time as well.(I set the destination and drove in hybrid auto mode, but the charge ran out quickly)
I wish it would at least run 50km per charge....
This time, we were lucky enough to have a charging facility at our hotel on the first day and were able to fill up our batteries in about three hours, but even that ran out quickly the next day.
The Cayenne E-Hybrid was heavier because of the motor in it, and on the return trip, total fuel economy was less than 10 km/h when driving without a charge.
I think I might like the Cayenne better than the 911.
This time, I switched places with my husband's 911 Cabriolet on the way out, but to be honest, the Cayenne was so comfortable that I immediately asked him to drive again.
Oh no....
When I got in the 911 right after the Cayenne, it was so rigid and the seat was so low that the moment I started the engine, the car told me, "Come on, let's run!I felt as if I were being told, "No, I'm not in the mood for that...," and I flinched a little (laughs).
It may be fine for driving on mountain passes, but if you want to drive endlessly on the highway, the Cayenne is still easy and comfortable. It is non-stressful in every respect, you don't get tired, and the adaptive cruise control (ACC) is smart enough to keep you going. (Although I did not use ACC this time because driving itself is fun, and I drove by myself.)
And to my husband.
What's the matter with you, lately you're really liking the Cayenne more than the 911.
I was told, and it is so true, that these days it seems as if Cayenne has tamed me and pulled out my fangs (laughs).
However, when you drive a Boxster with a manual transmission, you can't say, "I'm not aWow, it's still fun!I'm sure my heart will be grabbed again... Porsche has so much charm in every model that I feel that I am completely at the mercy of it every time I drive it these days.

Cayenne = a nice chopstick rest!
I'm a Cayenne-only user, so I'd love to fly away in a 911 (lol).
wind-swept roadq
Sure, it's a luxury, but maybe Cayenne is a good chopstick rest...
I mean, it's too good a car to leave (laughs).
>I'm a Cayenne-only user, so I'd love to fly around in a 911 (lol).
LOL!!!
Good evening Mina. It was nice to meet you the other day.
I had a Cayenne (958) as my first car for 9 1/2 years until last month and it was great.
Sports cars like the 911 and Boxster are fun to drive when you're feeling energetic and special, but they are moderately sporty for everyday use.
The cayenne is soothing and a little bit loose.
Also, the high Cayenne has a good view, and you can get information about what's ahead of you quickly on both public roads and highways (i.e., there's an accident ahead of you, lane restrictions, etc.).
I think it is less burdensome.
And we pack a lot of luggage.
See you then.

Thank you very much for your help the other day.
Taikan, that was so cool...!
>I am healed by the cayenne that is a little loose.
>Another thing about the high Cayenne is that it has a good view and you can get information about what's going on ahead of you on both public roads and highways (i.e., there's an accident ahead, lane restrictions, etc.).
>I think it is less burdensome.
You are right...!
It has the perfect balance of being a little loose, but still running well, and a good view, so you can drive with peace of mind.
I thought again that it was wonderful.
I ride it every day, and I think I like it more and more every time I ride it.
