718 GTS 4.0 announced
The other day.GTS4.0, a 4.0L horizontally opposed 6-cylinder NA engine model of the 718GTShas been announced, and there has been quite a bit of buzz on the Internet. I had thought that the 718GTS available now was a 4-cylinder model and only the 718 Spyder and GT4 were 6-cylinder models, but now the 6-cylinder NA engine is back in the GTS.
The GTS 4.0 specifications are detailed in various articles, so I won't go into that much detail in this article.
Maximum output is 400ps.(35 PS more than the 4-cylinder GTS version)
0-100km/h time is 4.5 seconds.
Maximum speed is 293 km/h
The first transmission is a 6-speed manual transmission.
The Japanese version is only available in right-hand drive at this time.
The GTS model is a good example of this.Sport Chrono Package, PASM sport suspension, Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV)is standard equipment
The exterior features black-colored design elements unique to the GTS model.
interpoint (interword separation)GPF (gasoline particulate filter)is installed (Japanese specifications are unknown).
The price of the Boxster GTS4.0 in Japan is 11,110,000 yen.
I guess that's what it's all about.
GTS 4.0" from the perspective of a 981 Boxster owner
The morning of the day this "GTS 4.0" was announced, my husband
I've heard of the GTS4.0, but I guess those who already bought the 718GTS may have mixed feelings about it.A friend of mine bought a 718 Boxster GTS.But...
He said, "I wish Porsche would think a little more about the timing of the release.... To which I said, "Really, I wish Porsche would think a little more about the timing of their releases..." and he said, "I wish they would think a little more about the timing of their releases...
No, Porsche often does this kind of launch. Late start rock-paper-scissors is common. w Well...maybe the sales of the 4-cylinder 718 were worse than expected...well, maybe the old-time Porsche lovers were not so interested in the 4-cylinder....
And.
Incidentally, my husband currently owns a 918 Boxster GTS, and I decided to ask him how he felt about the announcement of the GTS4.0. He replied, "I think it's a good idea.
If I were to buy my first new Boxster or Cayman right now, this GTS 4.0 would be pretty good.If I didn't have a 981 Boxster GTS, I would definitely buy one.
The reason is still the same: "6-cylinder NA engineThe fact that it's a "street car" is significant. Add to that the 718's strong chassis performance, more street oriented than the GT4 or Spyder. What more can you ask for? And the GTS...not many will be produced, so it's easy to imagine a good resale, and I think it's a very good one.
He said. Then you're going to replace it!" I asked.
No, I'm not buying it. One reason is because it is a right-hand drive MT. That is the biggest reason. There is no reason to go to the trouble of selling a left-hand MT 981 Boxster and paying the additional cost to change to a right-hand MT, which is harder for me to drive.(I'd totally be okay with PDK on the right)
Next, we will discuss theI still can't let go of the sound of the 981 Boxster GTS engine. That's how good that sound of the 981 is. Personally, I think it is without a doubt the best Porsche of the last 10 years or so, and a masterpiece. It sounds great whether you are driving it in the city or on a winding road.
besides330 PS, just manageable on Japanese winding roads, this car has too much happiness than absolute performance.I'm not going to change this one. So I don't want to bother changing this either, at additional cost.
I see. I see.
I also really love the sound of the engine of my current 981 Boxster GTS, and I'm so impressed that I want to cry, so I'm going to say "I hope my husband will always own a 981.I was relieved because I thought, "I'm not going to be able to do that.
However, when someone I know buys a "GTS 4.0", I would be happy to have him or her ride in the passenger seat.................w

Mina.
I am happy to see the 781GTS 4.0 as it is the best combination of the 718's chassis quality and the 6 cylinder NA. It is nice to have a choice of NA engines in addition to the roles.
I am concerned about how GPF will affect the sound, and I wish I could test drive it in Japan, but I guess that is impossible.
I am happy with my 981 and I will not be switching as well as your husband, but I will be wobbly if I test drive it.
4.0L NA engine, I don't think it will be developed only for the 718, so I expect it will be put in the 992 as well.
I think it is not possible to put the 4.0L NA engine, which has less horsepower than the 3.0L turbo engine, in the car as it is, so some kind of modification is necessary........
Mr. Ishi.
Indeed, it's amazing that here we can choose NA engines even for non-limited models...isn't it?
I think the engine sound is definitely better on the 981, but I am wondering how much better it performs in other respects.
My husband said, "I'd be interested in a 911 with an NA engine if it ever came out."
What will happen? I'm curious about a lot of things.
Engines are strange things.
To be honest, the 3.4 was a bad engine when it was used in the 911.
It showed its true value when it was loaded on the 981 series
Conversely, the 3.8 that gave me so much excitement in the 911 has become a poofy, depraved engine in the 981gt4.
You have to ride it to find out.
Maybe that's why it's interesting.
I am looking forward to the new 4.0.

I see! It's really strange what an engine is...
I wish I could test drive a lot of Porsches and buy them, but I can't test drive all models at all.
I guess it's just a matter of riding it.
When the GTS4.0 comes out and someone buys it, I would love to have them ride it.
Hi Mima.
I am captivated by the charm of the 981 Spyder, but the announcement of gts4.0 does not make me feel at ease....
As someone like me who was forced to buy it on a resale basis, the market for the 981, which would have maintained a high used market price because of the 6-cylinder, would fluctuate...
I am concerned that....
I'm not sure if a spider would still be safe, but it would definitely have a small impact.
As a Porsche fan, I am happy that they are bringing out the best car, but as a 981 owner, I am also disappointed.
There is a bit of a buzz in Minkara, but Porsche is a scary manufacturer (laughs).

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that the 981 Spyder is fantastic. I heard the engine sound of a 981 Spyder from a friend of mine.
I thought, "Oh, this must be an engine sound that will never be produced in the future due to emission regulations, etc. - it's wonderful."
So far, 981 will increase in value? I was told that it would, but I wonder what will happen in the future...
But I don't think that engine sound can ever be reproduced no matter how much the performance of the 718 improves, so I think the 981 Spyder must be a great car after all ^ ^.
I think Porsche is really sneaky.
They are really desecrating the people who bought the 718GTS anymore.
The people who bought GTS thinking that GTS has a good resale are already crying.
However, this 991 Carrera S engine is used all over the place. I guess they have a lot left over. Or is it still a trend to make as much money as possible with this engine block?
When you buy a Porsche, you have to anticipate the future, or there will always be a better model by the time you take delivery of the car, but I don't like this kind of thing, although it's good business, lol.

Best wishes for the rest of the year!
(I apologize for not being able to even reply to your comment about the old neighborhood dealer last year, when I made it private.)
>The people who bought GTS thinking that GTS has a good resale are already crying.
I know...someone I know bought a GTS and immediately contacted my husband and said that we might as well sell it right away before the price drops.
This engine seems to be a newly developed one.
I was reminded this time that the timing of buying a Porsche is really difficult...you have to think it over.
It seems to be very difficult for the dealers to deal with the customers each time ^^^;
Good evening Mina!
I am one of those who are mildly shocked.
I just personally like the 718GTS design better than the 981GTS because of the front and rear bumper design and the optional LED headlights.
But what calms my mind every time is, '(sorry, bad way to put it...) but it's a 4-cylinder, even if I say it is! If it is, there is no comparison...'. I had to calm myself down.
But it's not just a matter of time before that attractive body is loaded with a flat 6 this time. And the 4.0...
But as the master said, the sound of 981GTS is a sound that nothing can change! I was also proud that even a 911 can't sound like that, so I'm relieved to be able to share the same feeling.
Mr. taramangts.
This "GTS 4.0" was a shock to the world, wasn't it (sweat)?
As you said, the "981 is an NA engine" was the difference between it and the 718... and it was a calming point.
In fact, after my husband bought a 981 Boxster GTS, people said "This is the last NA".
I'm relieved to be able to share this with you, because I was proud that even the >911 didn't sound that good ^_^.
That engine sound is fantastic! It makes me cry every time (laughs).
It seems to affect resale...what will happen to the market in the future?
GT4 or GTS, if it's not MT left-hand drive.
I can't buy it.
But the 981 certainly sounded good.
Personally, I think it was better than the current GT3.
Mas...
Mr. Whooper.
My husband was at Porsche Center the other day and they recommended the GTS 4.0.
He refused, saying, "After all, it's not a left-hand drive..."
>But the 981 certainly sounded good.
>Personally, I think it was better than the current GT3.
>Masu...
Wow, that makes me happy! No really, I really think so.
The sound of 981 is already too pleasant and I definitely want my husband to keep it forever.
