Goodbye Golf 7 and thank you - overall review after owning it for about 3 years.

VW Golf7
With the recent arrival of a BMW 320i to our home, we had to let go of our Volkswagen Golf 7 All Star in tears. The Golf that was in our home was aPowered by 1.2L engine, 7-speed DCTThe body color is a special color, Carbon Steel Gray Metallic, with 20-spoke aluminum wheels, specially designed fabric seats, "ALLSTARIt is a limited edition model equipped with the "M" logo emblem and door sill plates.
The Golf is a really, really well made, great car!It was. If you don't go on long tours or go to circuits, this one Golf is more than enough for your needs. I have written many times in this blog about how wonderful the Golf is, but I would like to write again what I felt after owning the Golf for 2 years and 9 months.
Golf General Comments
High performance as a car
I think the Golf is a car with very high basic performance as a car. Porsche also has a "Running, turning, stoppingIt is said that the "Golf" is a well-made car, and the Golf is just like that. It handles well and brakes well. Although the car is firm, the ride is very smooth, and you will not get tired even if you drive it for a long time.
It is also very stable at high speeds, and can run at 100 km/h and change lanes at high speeds with ease. The doors are not flimsy, but have a good weight to them.Well built carThe sense of security that comes from the impression of "I'm a good person" is amazing.
My Golf had a 1200cc engine, but I didn't feel it lacked power at all. There is no such thing as "the engine doesn't go as fast as it sounds even if you step on the gas pedal."It felt more like a car with power. The hill in front of my house is quite steep, but when I pressed down on the accelerator pedal, the car climbed up the hill powerfully.
be flexible
The Golf can easily park where the Panamera cannot. I've been in a lot of places where I've had to park my "That restaurant has a small parking lot, so let's go golfing. There were many times when the scene was "I'm sorry. I also visited the graves of both families once a month, but always by golf because I had to go through rural farm roads and narrow paths.
Golf because it can go anywhere, park anywhere, go to any supermarket or store with no problem, easy to use, and performs well.Very suitable for daily use by the wife.It is a good car.
Cost-effective
With all this performance. The price of a new car is 3 million yenIt is amazing that the price of the GT3 Touring option is less than the price of the GT3 Touring.......!(Actually, I'd be happier with a cheaper one.)Compared to domestic cars of the same grade and similar price range. If I had to choose that one, I'd definitely prefer golf!Personally, I think it's a good idea.
Also, the Golf is not prone to breakage. Our family had to let it go after less than 30,000 kilometers, so it may have some problems once it gets close to 100,000 kilometers, but at least at this point in time, it's aThere were no malfunctions, glitches, or errors of any kind. The oil doesn't run low at all, and was only changed in conjunction with the one-year inspection.
Rear seats are spacious
The Golf is a compact car, but the rear seats are relatively spacious. Even my husband, who is 178 cm tall, was able to sit in the back seat without any problem. This is not tiring to ride for a long time.He said.
Good fuel economy?
In our family, we tend to compare it to Porsche models, so I guess the Golf's fuel economy just seems crazy good (laughs). It is approximately 14-15 km/L.I guess that's about the extent of my highway driving and city driving.
...but the Panamera's fuel economy has been improving recently. Even on our last touring trip, the Panamera's total fuel economy was 9.8L/100km (10.2km/L).
Luggage can be loaded quite well.
The Golf can carry quite a bit of luggage.Trunk can fit large L-size suitcases.I have always taken my golf car to Nitori when I go shopping, but I have never had a problem with my luggage not fitting in. I have always taken my Golf when I go shopping at Nitori, but I have never had a problem with my luggage not fitting in the Golf.
Poor resale.
The downside of the Golf is the poor resale..................................... When I was at Volkswagen the other day for an appraisal...Trade-in on a new car purchase is about 40% of a new car.It was. By the way.2.50% of the price of a new car when I had it appraised by BMW.It was about as good as it gets. Such great performance, no breakdowns, no repairs, and less than 30,000 miles.(28,353 km)But I guess that's about it.
Next, I would like to finally introduce the much-anticipated (w/e) overall review of my husband's Golf 7.
My husband's general comment
sense of rigidity
First of all, what you feel when you drive a Golf is, what can I say, its "sense of rigidity". Even the rear doors are well made, as are the weight and closure of the doors, and even theThere is no sense of cutting corners at all in any area.(Some domestic cars, for example, have a solid front door and a flimsy rear door.)Of course, there is a strong sense of grounding in driving, and a sense of security that the body is in a hard, solid shell.
This sense of rigidity comes into play when driving at high speeds on highways, for example.Anyway, it is stable. In the speed range of Japanese highways, there is nothing to worry about when blasting through the overtaking lane.More comfortable car than PorscheSo, in terms of fatigue and mentalFrankly, I feel more stable and secure in golf.I even think that there is more to it than that.
With arrow-straight driving stability and a firm suspension, the car is perfect for lane changes at very high speeds and for holding its ground in corners. And the brakes are controllable to the touch and effective enough to meet the need. The vehicle is stable and does not shake even when braking suddenly at high speeds, as one would expect from a driver raised on the Autobahn.A new car with this performance can be purchased for about 3 million yen, which is now a bargain price!I think.
Engine/Transmission
The engine is Volkswagen's signature 1.2-liter downsized turbo.Torque from below, easy to ride. For those who are accustomed to torque converter ATs and CVTs in domestic cars, many people may feel uncomfortable with the twin-clutch DSG.
But every time I changed gears, the needle on the tachometer dropped like a stone. The acceleration feeling is similar to that of a manual transmission car, and I personally like it because it gives me a sense of driving. There was virtually no shift shock, and you could not tell what gear you were in without looking at the indicator. People often talk about "problems or strange noises with this dry DSG," but at least this unit had no problems at all, and there were no glitches at all.
On the other hand, if I had to name a drawback to this DSG, as with any car these days, "The point at which the driver upshifts earlier than necessary because of the emphasis on fuel economy. It would be." Especially in the case of the Golf 7.When you start, you're in second gear without a pause. Therefore, when you want to accelerate a little more vigorously, you may have a sluggish feeling.
By the way, in cases like thisIf you put it in S mode, you'll get just the right shift schedule. So I used to run in S mode.
Also, you don't have to step on the brake while stopped.Turn on "Auto Hold" function. When the car is set to the "0" position, it is awkward to step on the access as usual when starting off, so it takes a little getting used to. If the driver first steps lightly on the accelerator pedal and then releases the auto-hold brake before starting the car, the car will start smoothly.
Note that this is a late modelGolf 7.5 says it's improved. It is.
Even at high speeds, this engine delivers acceleration that is hard to believe that it is only 105 PS. As is the case with European cars, this is largely due to the way the torque is produced and the peculiar gear ratios, but there is nothing frustrating about accelerating from 100 km/h, and the car accelerates as expected.Don't underestimate a mere 105 PS.It is comfortable enough to lead Japanese highways on weekends.
one's feeling while riding
As for ride quality, "I'm not sure I'll ever be comfortable.Outstanding for its class.I think so. Of course, 'ride comfort' is perceived in different ways by different people; some people find fluffy to be good, while others find flatness or hardness to be good.
In the case of golf, thePeople who value a flat feel will find the ride comfortable.I believe that the The previous generation AUDI A4 Quattro(Sedan)He and I took turns driving between Tokyo and Osaka in this Golf with the owner of theGolfers have less up and down eye movement when they fly, great! He was surprised.
The rear suspension of the Golf 1.2 is a torsion beam, unlike the multi-link type of the 1.4. If you compare the 1.2 and the 1.4, you will find that the 1.4 is even smoother, but to be clear, I don't think anyone would find the 1.2 itself uncomfortable to ride in. "I think 1.2 is a little hiccupy on rough terrain and big bumps. The difference is only to the extent that you would think, "What's the difference?
Golf is recommended
If our readers are considering a car in this class, we'd like toI recommend golf with absolute confidence.I would like to do so. However, if you "don't drive on highways," "don't drive long distances," or "only need to drive comfortably in town," then we recommend that you choose a different car.
This is because there is no point where the good qualities of golf can be demonstrated, and they will probably only be thought of as 'Geisha' with no redeeming qualities.
Golf is aFor those who value reliability, safety, and basic performance of "running, turning, and stopping" as a tool of an automobile. We would love to have you drive it. I think this is the perfect car for such people.

Hello. This is nave, who only appears when I play golf.
I think the Golf is more accurate than the A3, too.
MINA's disadvantages are exactly the same.
For people like me who have relatively high mileage, resale is not so important, but if you want to replace your bike within 3 years, I have a tough impression. It's also very loadable, and I can carry my hobby road bike on it without removing the front and rear wheels.
I think BMW is also a good car, so please practice MT as much as you want ‼️As everyone says, once you get used to it, you will have no problem at all. You will be able to make subtle adjustments for each car model, so don't worry.
Please continue to go forward on your car transformation path without hesitation‼️.

Hello! And thank you for your comment!
The Golf is a really well-made car.
>The rear is a multi-link Golf for ease of comparison with your wife's A3.
Oooh, actually my family used to drive an A3!
I think the longer you drive the Golf, the more affordable it is.
I guess the biggest loss would be to buy a new car like this one and sell it after 3 years and less than 30,000 km^;
BMW is a great car too. I've had the car for about 10 days now, and I'm getting used to it!
This would go anywhere, and I would want to ride it for no reason (laughs).
I'll be updating the blog again in the future, so keep 'em coming!
Each manufacturer has its own specialty category, after all.
In recent years, there have been a number of cars in this class, such as the Mercedes A-Class and BMW 1 Siri, etc. In the past, there was no choice but the Golf. In the past, there were only the Golf, but now there are many other choices.
If I were to buy one, I would choose the Golf without hesitation. The history of making this class of car is different. No other car can compare to it. In this class, it is a complete winner.
VW has the Golf. In the other category, on the contrary, they have a short history and are still weak.
kurumani arabis (ryokanai)
I see, so golf is still the runt of the litter in that class!
But as you say, other categories in Volkswagen are a bit less like the Golf.
I was reminded that there is a lot going on depending on the manufacturer.
By the way, I'm going to Mercedes Me in Osaka tomorrow to test drive an A180!
(I'm not buying, but I wanted to experience how different it is from golf...)
I hope to be able to blog about it again ^^^ Thank you for your continued support!
Nice to meet you.
I always enjoy reading your blog.
I bought a new Golf 7 2015 Trendline without navigation system for 2,380,000 including discounts on the vehicle.
We recently sold it for 800,000 with a trade-in to replace the vehicle. 5.5 years old, 48,000 km on the odometer, it was my wife's neighbor's car.
I was so impressed with the Golf when I first test drove the Highline that I bought it immediately.
The feedback on your blog was almost exactly what I had in mind.
I gave it away because it started having various minor problems and 8 was also released, so it was time to sell, and with the March closing, it was time to buy.
It was a good purchase even though it was a simple golf without unnecessary equipment.
However, the loss at the time of sale is significant.

Thank you for visiting my blog!
Golf, it really is a great car.
I can run the neighborhood, I can drive on the highway, and it's solid.
It's a very cost-effective car that can be driven anywhere.
As you say, it will be so cheap when you sell it...
I was surprised.............................
