Tighter environmental and noise regulations will make it impossible to buy a gasoline-engine sports car? !

Porsche 911 (992 type) engine sound
We often see news about the increasingly strict regulations on fuel consumption and emissions of automobiles. However, the "This movement seems to be spreading in Europe, but I wonder if it will have an impact on Japan for a long time to come.I thought, "I'm not going to be able to do that.
However, this is not the time to be so leisurely, and we are already beginning to feel the effects of the earthquake.
Then the other day I received this question on my blog.
The 911 (992) has just been delivered and is still breaking in and only running under 3,000 rpm.The sound is a little lacking (even when spoech on).Is it the lack of muffler burn, the RPMs, the sound insulation of the 992, or my numbness to sound... I just feel the sound of the previous Macan is louder, but what about Mr. and Mrs. Mina's 992?"
He said.
I asked my husband about it.
Regarding the sound of the 992's engine. My sense is that it was pretty big from the time it was delivered.I'm not sure. Especially the engine starting sound is very loud. My 992 doesn't have the sport exhaust option, but it still makes a reasonably loud noise.
The sound of the engine when you step on the gas pedal a little bit is not a roar like the 981 Boxster GTS or GT3, but it is quite loud.
Maybe the questioner's 992 has a GPF (gasoline particulate filter). I don't know...
and replied to that effect.
The owner immediately checked with the dealer and emailed me again. There, he wrote, "My 992 already had a GPF on it!It said.
I see...!
Availability of sport exhaust settings
Also, this is only information that was muttered on Twitter, so it is unconfirmed information. The 718 Boxster from the 2022 model year is no longer available with the sport exhaust option. We were informed that "the
I had no idea that the sport exhaust setup would disappear so recently. I guess that's how strict the noise, emission, and environmental regulations for automobiles have become.
Previously.I will buy a Porsche someday. Whenever I can afford it, I'll buy the Porsche I want at the time.I thought I would be able to buy a sports car when I can afford one, not someday, but I guess I won't have that kind of leisurely thinking anymore. If we do not buy a sports car when we can afford one, rather than someday, the sports cars that allow us to enjoy driving through the sound of the engine and our five senses may disappear sooner than we think.
My husband has recently been "on theThe last NA engine in the general model, a 991 early 911, is very nice.I have been looking at used car websites every day, saying, "If you want to enjoy NA's extended acceleration and engine sound, if you don't get one within the next year or two, the time when you can no longer get one may soon be around the corner.
It is something that makes me think about a lot of things these days.

Hi Mina.
Since I sold my voxpa, it has been somewhat difficult for me to comment, and I have not appeared for a while, but I enjoy reading every article.
Also, I'm amazed at how your update pace has picked up in spite of all the child-rearing you've been doing! (Really amazing)
Now, the 911 GPF and the discontinuation of the 718 Spoeg...
I had thought that one day it would happen in Japan, but it came sooner than I had imagined.
Although it can't be helped, as a person who goes out of my way to buy an inconvenient and expensive sports car, I feel like, "Please give me a break for the small number of cars on the road..." (T-T)
When the time comes for full EV, I'll be ready to give up on the stones.
I admire the manufacturers who are able to achieve high performance in the face of various regulations, but as a person who desires fun more than high performance, I feel sorry for the manufacturers, but I would like to have used cars before the regulations, such as the 981 and 991.1.
p.s. If I want to enjoy the thrill of driving a Ferrari, it is a Ferrari, but if I want to drive comfortably, it is definitely a Porsche, and I am thinking of going back to a Porsche when the time is right.

It's been a while! How are you?
>Since selling Boksupa, it has been somewhat difficult for me to comment.
I see that you did! LOL Don't mind me at all and comment!
As you say, the value of pre-regulated used cars will be further reassessed, and
I wonder if they will become more and more unavailable.
We look forward to welcoming you back to Porsche ^^.
I drive a 996 and I am all for noise regulation.
As a driver, it's great to be able to hear the pleasant sound, but it's honestly stressful to hear the blasting sound from outside when you get into bed at night and try to sleep lol.
So I take measures such as not driving at night and only making noise in places where I cannot see private residences.
I only hope that the noise will continue to be regulated, but the beautiful tone will be maintained.
Akasaka.
Surely, a bomb blast in the middle of the night is a bit insane...
I think it's important to have fun when no one else is around, to be mindful of the time of day, and to have at least the bare minimum of manners.
I think we absolutely have to protect them.
>I just hope that the noise will continue to be regulated, but the beautiful tone will be maintained.
It really is true>
Hello 00.
It is true that the 718 spoeg is gone. The sales person mentioned it a few months ago and I am sure of it. He said that noise regulations are still the reason.
The 3.8L engine in the 991 is really good. It has enough torque from the bottom for city driving (though you have to rev it a bit more on mountain roads to get enough torque), and it turns beautifully all the way up to the top. The sound is also quite good with the spoeg. Personally, I can't say enough about this engine.
The 3.4 on the 981S is similar, but sometimes I feel the difference of 400cc. However, I feel that the difference is somewhat compensated for by the difference in vehicle weight. On mountain roads, the underpowered 3.4 is more enjoyable.
I personally think that the early 9x1 series engines are masterpieces among Porsches in both sound and power. I would like to maintain it as much as possible.

I knew it!
This makes the first semester of 991 even more attractive, as you say.
It has a very classy and wonderful engine sound, and the way the engine turns seems to be very pleasant.
(My husband also looks at car sensors daily)
I am sure that car manufacturing will continue to change in many ways, such as industry restructuring and the shift to EVs...
I'm sorry for the continuous pitching.
By the way, as you may know, the v6 engine of the early model Macan Panamera should definitely sound better than the v6 engine of the late model...since the v6 engine of the vw group was changed from the late model. I haven't driven the late model engine yet, so I don't know how it feels.
So, from the core fans, the v6 of the previous Macan should be a very good value, and I don't think the price will go up in the future...but wow....
Hi Mina.
I am the one who bought a Porsche for the NA engine.
It is a global trend, so products that ignore the environment will disappear.
As for the exhaust note, honestly, I personally don't want the engine to blow on its own when starting up.
The sound doesn't echo in front of me when I am running, so it doesn't bother me that much, but I was approached by a police car at a traffic light when I was running in the middle of the night in a spoeg-off after taking an astronomical photograph;
I thought they thought it was definitely an illegal modification.
Then I ran with the windows open and it bothered me a lot, so that was the only time I went for astronomical observation with the GT4.
However, in the case of the GT4, I would like to have this feature because the response to the gas pedal becomes something else with the sports exhaust on.
I believe everything has been with GPF since MY2021.
GT4 also changed the part number when I checked before.
Initially, the part number was the same as the US version without GPF: ・・・・

Hello, NA engines are really going away fast...
>To be honest, I personally don't want the engine to blow up on its own when starting up.
Yes, I don't like to blow the emptiness either, and I don't think it's a great idea, but I think it's a dignity, and I don't want to do it either.
>I believe everything is now with GPF since MY2021.

That's right! I knew it...things are changing without us even knowing it...><
Hello~ (^. ^)
Sound is an important part of driving a Porsche!
I guess noise restrictions can't be helped, I guess it's just the times we live in (cries).
My 930 has been replaced, so it is more annoying than stock, but it has a nice dry high pitch sound lol.

>My 930 has been replaced, so it is more annoying than stock, but it has a nice dry high pitch sound lol.
Oh yes! It's true that noise restrictions are inevitable, and I guess that's how times change...
I'm going to miss you a little, though.
I bought a 991.1 4S last year for NA. It is my first Porsche.
It was a stock exhaust, so I replaced it with a SpoEg and it turned into a completely different car. I couldn't stop laughing when I got on the car.
There are pros and cons, but of course, for me, it means good. I live in Tokyo and there are quite a lot of things I can do even when driving slowly on congested public roads (because I can do things with a Porsche that I can't do with a normal car), so it's quite interesting.

>It was a stock exhaust and then I replaced it with a SpoEg and it turned into a completely different car.
Oh, yes! It changes that much...!
I sometimes hear that the recent Porsches do not change much even with spoeg, so I wonder if this is changing due to noise regulations and other factors.
I'm so jealous of your NA engine 911!
