A story about how my standards for ride quality have changed since I test drove the new Porsche Cayenne.

The comfort of the new Cayenne
This September.I was allowed to test drive the new Cayenne at the Porsche Center. When I was there, I was quite surprised at how comfortable the ride was for both of us. In myThe pinnacle of the car with a good ride has been the "971 Panamera" until now.but(The number of cars I've driven is very small, but...)The new Cayenne was many times more comfortable.
...I mean, it was exceptional.
How is it comfortable to ride? The suspension is firm, yet very soft and smooth."It was as if I was moving along on rails without feeling any bumps or shocks. However, it was not fluffy, and I felt as if I was gripping the ground.
Also the ride in the back seat was very comfortable. Until now.The back seat of an SUV rides like a bus.I was under the impression that it was possible to go on a long touring trip sitting in the back seat all the time, but that was not the case at all. I thought, "It's totally possible to go on a long touring trip sitting in the back seat all the time!
In a test drive review on Cargraphic TV, Mr. Matsutoya had this to say about the ride quality of the new Cayenne (base model, without PASM spring suspension).
This is a luxury car the moment you start driving it. It is so supple underfoot that it is hard to believe that it is equipped with such fat tires. I don't know if it's fair to say that it doesn't feel like a Porsche, but I wonder if it's okay to make such a luxurious car with such a comfortable ride. (Omitted). No, because it's amazing how people can be fooled into thinking it's an air suspension....It's a strange feeling. It's a Porsche, right? It doesn't have air suspension, yet it rides like that.
Since that Matsutoya-san said it like this, the ride quality of the new Cayenne must be quite good.
Cayenne is unforgettable.
Since test driving the new Cayenne, we have had a bit of trouble at home.Even cars that I used to think were comfortable to ride in feel uncomfortable."The first is the "one". In particular, theVolkswagen Golf Mk7 at home now.I have been in the market for a car for a few years now. It is a very nice car, but it used to be'If you had a Golf, you wouldn't need a Panamera, would you?'I used to think, "Oh, I didn't know it was so rattly. Did you change the air pressure?" I now feel like, "Oh, my God, I've changed the air pressure.
And as for the Panamera, even though the ride is not bad. It's still so much smoother than the Cayenne."Sometimes I think to myself. If this is the case, I wish I had never test-driven the new Cayenne.(I'm not sure that's true.)
Suddenly, the other day, my husband said something like this.
Since I got in the new Cayenne and was amazed at how comfortable it was, my standards for car comfort have changed dramatically. I used to think that the Panamera and the Boxster are completely different in terms of ride quality and are in completely different categories, but after driving the new Cayenne, I now feel that the Panamera is also a sports car and is in the same category as the Boxster. But after driving the new Cayenne, I started to feel that "Panamera is also a sports car, but in the same category as the Boxster". I can't find a good analogy for it, though.
He said. I said, "For example, I used to think that 500 yen meat and 2,000 yen meat are totally different, but after eating 10,000 yen meat, 500 yen and 2,000 yen are the same! You mean like that?(I've never had such expensive meat.)When I hear the word
Well, I don't know about that analogy either, but that's how I feel.
(-_-)(Really?)
Since then, my husband can't seem to forget the Cayenne because he can't help comparing the comfort of the Cayenne to any other car he drives. However, it would be too extravagant to buy a Golf and replace it with a Cayenne...
However, my Golf will be inspected next year, so I don't know what my house will look like this time next year....

Often, after test-driving a car that I am interested in, I become calm and my desire to buy it subsides because it is different from what I imagined. However, if you test drive the car and like it, you will have no choice but to buy it (laughs). The time I spend occupied in my thoughts, wondering whether to buy or not, is fun, but it is nothing short of an economic loss!
I am an SUV hater, but I thought the new Cayenne was nice. Maybe the Tiptro contributes to the ride comfort.

Yes, yes, yes. I thought it wouldn't exceed my expectations, or rather, I didn't expect it to, but I've been so thrilled with it that I've been able to drive every car I've ever owned since then.
It is indeed a tremendous financial loss to think, "What a ride!
When my husband and I were talking about this, he said, "Well, if I can find a used new Cayenne now, I might buy it," so maybe it will be in our house next year.
I even thought Tiptro was better than PDK!
New Cayenne
It looks and feels a bit ancestral.
This is another ride from the first generation.
It's a great point for our family.
One.
Tip has evolved over the years and
It is only for off-road and
Considering the user base
As I mentioned before, in the current PDK.
I don't think we can handle it.
As well as a lighter vehicle body.
The result of a thorough response to user needs.
I think it is.
Light and stable, smooth running and cornering
The moment of the back seat, front to back, left to right.
It has been successfully resolved.
It's a quintessential Porsche.

My family is going to buy a hybrid that will be available in Japan next year.
My wife is anxiously awaiting.

>The new Cayenne looks a bit like a return to its ancestors, which is one of the great things for my family, who have been driving it since the first generation.
Oh, sure, when you compare them like that, they've got a squarer look, or more like the first generation!
It was said that the face of the new 911 (992) has gone back to a bit of a frog face, but I wonder if that is the trend.
Well... yes, when you think about off-roading, towing boards, etc.
It is true that PDK cannot cover it. Still, I was very surprised at how good Tiptro is.

Oh!!! If you buy a hybrid, I'd love to see it listed in your owners file (LOL)!
My family is really getting in the mood to buy a new Cayenne to replace our Golf when the current new Cayenne comes out in used condition (laughs).
I recently test drove a Cayenne.
This article seems to express my feelings in words.
It was as if I was moving along on rails. But it wasn't fluffy; it felt like it was gripping the ground."
or
Even cars that I used to think were comfortable to ride in feel uncomfortable."
And.
I thought our car was a mess, but once I got in the Cayenne.
'I don't remember there being such a fine tremor.' I felt it.
F-Type.
Cayenne is amazing.
I honestly think it is smoother and swoother going than the Panamera.
>I thought our car was a very comfortable ride, but once I got in the Cayenne...
>"I don't remember there being such a fine tremor." I felt it.
I see...!
But it's really true, once you drive a Cayenne, the shaking of other cars becomes very noticeable ^^^.
That car is not a bad ride, in fact, it should be good...but the Cayenne must be horrible...!
