If I buy a Porsche 911, should I buy a Carrera or Carrera S?

Porsche 911 (992 type)
Reviews & Test Rides

Knowing the Porsche turbo model.

My family used to have aPanamera Turbo (971)There was a At the time of purchase, my husband was torn between grades until the very end, but

."You don't need as much power as a turbo without knowing what a turbo is.I don't want to say "I don't want to say "I don't want to say that. I want to experience it for myself. So I'm gonna go for it and buy a turbo!

and had purchased a Panamera Turbo.

Porsche Panamera Turbo

And my husband's impression after actually experiencing the turbo is, as I've written many times on this blog

The turbo is really amazing. It's basically a luxury runabout, but withI'm afraid of how it changes once I step on it too hard or run it in Sports Plus mode.I'm not sure.
It is fascinating to be able to enjoy both in one car, but I don't think I need the power of a turbo.... If we were to buy a Panamera next, I think I would prefer a hybrid instead of a turbo.
As for the other Porsche models, yes, I have a crazy crush on the 911 Turbo S, and the "If I were to buy a Turbo S, I would use these specs.I always imagine "I want to buy a car someday," while using the configurator (laughs), but in the end, I may not be able to keep it even if I buy it.
When I think about it, I wonder if the way I am now is the right way for me.

I'm sure that's true.

It's not that we want to drive as fast as possible on the Nürburgring or 200km/h on the Autobahn to get to our destination as quickly as possible........

Also, in the case of the 992 911, just a little acceleration on the highway will give you tremendous acceleration. If this is the case with a turbo, I'm afraid to step on the gas pedal at all.I also think, "I'm not sure.

I guess it would be nice to be able to test drive a Porsche at a dealer or store until I am satisfied with the purchase, because I feel that different grades of Porsche are totally different cars, even if they are the same model.(I don't get a chance to step on the gas pedal that hard on a dealer test drive, but it's an expensive purchase)I thought again.

Thank you for your always enjoyable articles.
When I test drove the base grade, I found it a little too stiff for me.

I was used to the ride quality of the Carrera s, and also because the suspension had not been acclimated after about 1000 km of test driving.
There may be some, but I had the impression that it picked up small bumps on the road surface in great detail.
Forgot to look at the tire brands.
As your husband said, I guess it depends on what kind of ride you want.

Off topic, but the 981GTS Boxster rides like a champ!
The tires are the newer, more recent P Zero's, but nothing like the old, unimpressive P Zero's!

I also wore Michelin 4s on my 991, and as much as I like them, I have the impression that the P Zero is getting better.

      Mr. Tomozo.
      Thank you for everything!

      >When I test drove the base grade, I felt it was a little too stiff for me.
      It sure is pretty stiff...!
My wife and I like the firmness, but still, the bare-bones 992 that was just delivered to us.
I thought, "This is too hard, this is a little too hard.

As I rode it, it became smoother and now I think it has mellowed a lot.

Tires, the latest from P Zero is that good!
      Tires are evolving every day!

As I have commented before, I am ordering a 992 bare Carrera. The reason I went with the bare car is simple: the power of the S is completely unnecessary on public roads in Japan, and the price is too high. If I could afford the S, I would get a cabriolet before that (I ended up with a coupe, but instead? I added a glass sunroof!) ). How is the ride? I think the bare bones with standard 19/20 wheels rides better than the 20/21 S. This is my first Porsche in my life, and I actually ordered a 992 without ever test driving one, trusting the perfection of the 992. And now that the infection numbers have subsided a bit, I finally went to PC yesterday and test drove a bare-bones Carrera. I only drove it around town for a short time, but I think it was comfortable. My wife also drove it and said it was too normal to drive, not scary at all. In fact, sports cars are dangerous, there is no way I can drive one! It's a big step forward from where I was saying "sports cars are dangerous, there's no way I can drive one! I am looking forward to the bare-bones Carrera and delivery of the car in 6 months.

      Mr. Tak Kite
      Thank you!

      Indeed, S is really expensive...
I thought it was tremendous...over 20 million yen with options.

That sunroof on the coupe is soooo nice!

      >My wife drove it and said it was too normal and not scary at all.
      Oh yes!
I, too, had stubbornly refused to drive a sports car until I drove a Porsche.
Once I drove it, I was surprised to find that I could drive it as I wanted and feel safe.

I'm looking forward to taking delivery of your car!
I hope that by then Corona will be calmer than it is now and we can go for a drive.

I would be very happy if you could tell me more about your impressions of the car when it is delivered.
