Kyushu Touring Day 1
This time, I went touring in my beloved Porsche Boxster GTS (981) for the first time in a while.
I usually only do solo touring, but this time it was with a friend,I went on a 4-day/4-night trip around Kyushu in two Boxster GTS (981) with the blog's chief test driver, TAKURO!The first is the "I" in "I".
Cruise on the prestigious Taiyo Ferry
Traveling from Kansai to Kyushu by ferry is very convenient. I have used this service many times in the past, this time also from Osaka Nanko to Kyushu,The prestigious Taiyo Ferry was used.
Meet at Osaka Nanko on Sunday evening.Upon arrival, TAKURO is already lined up in the lane for low-floor vehicles. After completing the embarkation formalities, we boarded the ship with the Boxster.
We each chose Superior rooms.Rooms with shower and toilet like a small business hotelIt is. The view from the window is pleasant, and it is hard to believe that it is a ship.
Drop off your luggage and have dinner at the ship's restaurant. It is buffet style with a wide variety,Two 40-something males, taking piles of fried food and meat like college students, and soft-serve ice cream for dessert, eating their bellies full. The touring trip began with touring plans and Porsche discussions.
Shin Moji Port - Jumonjihara Observatory
Arrive at Shin Moji Port around 8:30 in the morning.
The weather was cloudy and not raining. I looked at the map carefully, and in my head I thought we were going to arrive at Beppu Port,I realize now that I mistakenly booked a flight to Shin Mojiko and arrived at Shin Mojiko, which is in the northern part of Kyushu (laughs).
First, we headed for the Jumonjibaru Observatory. There,He is scheduled to meet up with his Porsche friend, Polshytee. He showed up in a shark blue 718 Spyder. As usual, he looks so cool. He went out of his way to meet us and show us around Aso for this event. We are very grateful.
Yamanami Highway and Chagoridai rest stop
Immediately after the rendezvous, we headed for the Yamanami Highway around Mt. On the way, we took a break at the narrow mist stand, where it gradually began to rain.
However, the road around Mt. Yufudake is so pleasant and the scenery is so great that the rain doesn't matter. I have been here many times, but it is always a wonderful road.
The car heads south on the Yamanami Highway, chasing after a 718 Spyder and TAKURO's Boxster GTS (981), both of which are running with a cloud of water smoke. On weekends, there is a lot of traffic, but since it was a weekday and raining, the road was completely empty. It was a weekday and it was raining, so there was no traffic at all.
On the way, we took a break at the Chojabaru signpost and set out for Daikanbong (peak).
Daikanbong and Kusasenri Rest
We drove further along the Yamanami Highway to Daikanbong. Strangely enough, on this trip, the rain only stopped when it was time to take pictures. While enjoying the spectacular scenery, we decided to have a light lunch and then head for Kusa-Senri.
Around this time, the rain began in earnest. By the time we reached the Kusasenri parking lot, it was raining heavily. The 718 Spyder in the lead is on CUP tires, so he is asked to drive slowly so as not to overdo it too much.
Carefully tracing the curves of the Aso Panorama Line as if savoring them. While operating the Boxster's shifter for no reason,Hearing the sound of rain pounding on the hood and a multiplicity of exhaust notes, we set out for the Kusasenri parking lot.
We rested for a while at the Kusasenri parking lot. In the cold, we check the route to the hotel while enjoying soft ice cream.
Lodging and Dinner in Yanagawa
As evening approached, we headed to our hotel in Yanagawa City.
On the way, take the K45 Kikuchi-Aso Skyline to the Ueki IC.
This K45 is a very famous road. There is little traffic, probably due to the rain, and the road is a pleasant mix of moderate curves and straight lines. The gentle downhill from Aso at a moderate pace is the best.
After getting on the highway, we parted from the 718 Spyder here, and the two Boxsters headed for Yanagawa City.
After arriving at the hotel,For dinner, I happened to visit a restaurant called BullHouse. We ordered a course meal, which was very tasty and reasonably priced, and Mr. Takuro and I enjoyed a very satisfying dinner. After the meal, we ordered cheesecake for dessert, but it was sold out. I was disappointed that I could not try it, but I would definitely like to try it next time I come back.
After dinner, we returned to the hotel and rested while checking the next day's route.

Hello, I always enjoy reading.
This is a very timely article for me as I am currently touring in Kyushu!
I didn't remember what floor I parked my car on when I boarded the ferry, so when I disembarked, I was in a hurry because I couldn't find where my car was lol.
I am in Kirishima City and am planning to go to Ibusuki Skyline now. I am looking forward to seeing what the road is like!
Hello, 168!
Kirishima City? Please visit Ibusuki Skyline!
I'm already at the point where I think this is the only place to go in Kyushu. I think it's great if you drive a roadster!
