Boxster Touring Sequel
Continuing from the previous article, "3,000km Tohoku Touring in a Porsche Boxster (Part 1)," we will now take you on a tour of the Tohoku region.
This time, we will send you the middle part of the tour. This time, as usual, we are just driving around, and there is almost no tourist information, but please enjoy the show.
Tohoku Boxster Touring Day3
The third day. Looking out the window of the hotel, the weather was a complete change from the previous days. The wind was strong, but it was a perfect day for the open. Today, we drove along the coast on R345 and R112.Aiming for our first destination, Mt. Chokai. The following is a list of the most common problems with the "C" in the "C" column.
The sea is really beautiful.
With the roof open and topless, the Boxster was "aWe've been waiting for you.The car is mindlessly brisk, as if to say, "I'm going to go for a ride. With the sports exhaust turned on, the flat-six boxer sound roared through the air as we sped along the coast. There was no need for music.
This is the real thrill of a convertible. This is truly extraordinary entertainment. You could say that you are in a car with the roof open for this moment. Wind, light, sound... everything is transformed into a performance for the best driving experience.
Entering the K210, the Boxster drives along the Chokai Blue Line all the way to Mt. The Boxster was quickly gaining altitude as the driver set the car to Sport Plus mode and made full use of 2nd to 4th gears. The blipping sound of downshifting echoed through the mountains, and I found myself talking to myself.
."Boxster, really nice..."
As we approached the summit at my own pace, the outside temperature gauge began to read around 5 or 6 degrees Celsius, and the air was clearly different. The air was clearly different. Fog was rolling in near the summit, and a towering wall of snow, perhaps 4 to 5 meters high, stood beside the road, creating a fantastic atmosphere.
Of course, the top of the Boxster remains open even in such a situation. With the heater on, the cabin is comfortable enough.
After leaving the summit, the downhill of the Chokai Blue Line on the north side begins. On the way, from aheadA red 991.2 GT3 comes running up.He said, "Oh, it's a late GT3! "Oh, it's the late GT3! I was only able to see the Boxster in my rearview mirror as I passed by it. The Boxster continued its downhill run, with a glimpse of its heroic figure in the rear-view mirror.
As I later found out.The GT3 owner we passed was a reader of this blog.My wife's Twitter feed said, "You may have seen my Boxster at Mt. Chokai. He contacted us to say that he was interested in our project. Well, it was a great chance encounter.
The north side of the Chokai Blue Line offers a breathtaking view. As the elevation drops, the fog clears.Expansive views of the Sea of Japan in the distance spread out below. The Boxster slows down and goes through the corner carefully as if to chew the scenery. The Boxster slows down and carefully exits the corner as if chewing the scenery.
When you get down to the bottom, a sign says, "Chokai Green LineThe word "K312" appears. Although it was not in my original plan, I decided to try out K312. The first half of the road is a wide farm road, and I can run at a comfortable pace. As we gradually climbed up the mountain, we found ourselves in the middle of a mountainous area.Road leading to Nigaho PlateauIt seems that the
On the plateau, wind turbines for wind power generation stand in a row and grasslands surround the area.It is a little like the Milk Road in Aso, Kumamoto. Kumamoto looks like a slightly smaller version of the Milk Road in Aso. Mountains could be seen in the distance, repeatedly appearing and disappearing behind clouds. Even though it was GW, there was almost no traffic here, and the road was almost completely reserved. It is a wonderful road.
Leaving the plateau behind, we now set our sights on the Sea of Japan.Take R7 to a hotel in Akita City.Soaking in the large bath, I stretched my body carefully while remembering today's scenery, and went to bed early that day.
Tohoku Boxster Touring Day4
The next morning. I wolf down the hotel's buffet breakfast and get ready early.
The Boxster sleeping in the parking lot is all dirty from its long journey. The front mask looks like a mustache with dead insects. The rear bumper is also blackened from dust and dustballs, and the sides are soggy from water splashing.
Wet a microfiber cloth at the hotel, spray it generously with a diluted spray of SureStar Zero Water that you brought with you, float the dirt, gently wipe it off, and you are ready to go.
Cars are in good shape without a care in the world when they are washed clean.I'm sure many of you have had that experience. I am sure many of you have had that experience.
Today we are going inland, not along the coast. First, we will visit Lake Tazawa. Lake Tazawa is a place I remember from my social studies map book when I was in elementary school.Deepest LakeI recall that it was listed as a I wanted to visit this lake once.
From R13, via R46, we turned onto R105. From there, we passed through K60 and came to the shore of Lake Tazawa. The surface of the lake is a wonderful, absorbing blue, unlike any lake I have ever seen.Park at the parking lot by Lake Tazawa, take a break while looking at the lake, and next proceed counterclockwise around the lake.
Then, turning onto the R341, the driver heads for Hachimantai on a superb mountain winding road. The road is wide, with gentle curves that go on and on. Such a wonderful road is hard to find in the Kansai region.
."Wow, Tohoku is amazing!"
The right foot that steps on the Boxster's accelerator pedal also naturally exerts force.
Enter the Hachimantai Aspite Line and choose a course that circles Hachimantai counterclockwise.
As the Boxster gains elevation, a snow wall like Mt. It looks like the Shiga-Kusatsu Plateau route. As we approach the summit, the number of tourist cars increases, but the scenery is so good that we don't mind so much.
This wonderful course, with its smooth curves and spoon curves, is a great place to start. While deciding on my poor heel-and-toeThe Boxster and I run up together, breathing in unison.
After that, once we descended to the foot of the mountain, we again headed for Hachimantai, this time on K23.
However, the pace did not pick up as we continued north on R341 again, with occasional glimpses of Mount Iwate.
Passing through Kazuno City.I saw a 970 Panamera Turbo resting at a gas station.I wish I could drive my Panamera in a place like this..." Thinking of the Panamera lying at home, I took R103 to Towadako. It is a super comfortable cruising line.
By the time we approach Lake Towada, the sun is setting and the lakeside is a nice golden color. The road was full of cars, so I gave up. I tried to stop at an observatory along the way, but it was full, so I gave up and took R454 and drove clockwise around Lake Towada.
However, this route had many pebbles on the road surface and the road was not wide. It was not an enjoyable route at all, but we persevered and headed toward Aomori City.
As the Boxster progresses from R102 to R103.Mt. Hakkouda approaches. The road is a great mountain winding road. This is another great mountain winding road. Traffic was a little heavy, but many cars were willing to give way.I was unreservedly allowed to buzz through in second gear Sport Plus mode, and after a thank-you hazard, I hurried onward.
A short break to watch the sunset at the Iwakisan Observatory.
A young couple in an old RANKURIKU, changing the position and direction of their car, repeatedly taking pictures of the sunset and their beloved car. "I guess car enthusiasts, regardless of car models or genres, do the same thing...I arrived at my hotel in Aomori City with a smile on my face.

The next issue is the final chapter. To Aomori, Morioka, and Aizu
How was the third and fourth day of the tour? I am sure it would not have been so nice if I had accompanied them, as I am a woman of heavy rain, storm, and fog.
The next issue will be the second part. We hope you all look forward to it.

Good morning, Mina.
Master's writing is really easy to read and the content is like a story, like a real novelist!
I think you should put out a book with all the touring in Japan!!!!
And your photos were beautiful!
It was refreshing and clean to see snow walls, a bright blue lake and white boxers.
And the way you do the proper stretching before bedtime, that's sporting perfection! That's what I'm talking about.
A real sport for the master!
Ah, a 718 Boxster has arrived in our home!
Unlike the 911, I can feel my heart beating in the center!
It is an interesting car.
Looking forward to the second part of your tale!
Gori.
Thank you for everything!
Thank you for saying that about my husband's touring article!
Maybe I'll publish a book around Kindle (laughs).
Gori is always so insanely complimentary about my husband.
My husband is delighted (LOL)!
Thank you for your continued support!
