Boxster, Day4
We are nearing the end of our journey with the Boxster. I think I slept very well yesterday, probably because I experienced the dreaded and terrible R265 road.
Today we left the hotel with a plan to run around the Satsuma Peninsula. Our first goal wasIbusuki Skyline, also known as Ibusuki SkylineI have only a vague memory of the Ibusuki Skyline. I have a vague memory of having visited the Ibusuki Skyline nearly 20 years ago in an Audi TT. Therefore, I really wanted to visit this famous road this time.
Head south on R328 via K36. Enter at the Kagoshima IC and head directly for the Ibusuki Skyline.
From the Taniyama IC, head south on the Ibusuki Skyline. Traffic was suddenly reduced, and I was the only one driving. It was just me and the Boxster. I accelerate the gas pedal, match my breath with the Boxster's, and connect the clutch.
The best brakes in the universe, which are wonderfully easy to control, andThe car enters the corner with the same deceleration as imagined in his brain.
The driver throws the gearshift into second gear, accelerates, and connects the clutch. Again, the Boxster and I breathed in perfect unison, and the blipping was beautifully executed. I'm ready to go!Moments when the Boxster feels like a living thing, like a partner. We are no longer riding in a Boxster. We are running together.
This is why I can't stop with Boxster.
The Ibusuki Skyline is an even better road than I had imagined. What is a great road without calling it a great road? The road is wide and the pavement is in very good condition. It is very pleasant to drive, with mainly mid to high speed corners and many ups and downs. The dull Porsche comes alive.
As I was walking southward along the long Ibusuki Skyline, I saw Mount Kaimondake. It is a beautiful conical mountain and very beautiful. Since we were going so far, we decided to drop in at Mt. On the way there, we sawIssy."I stopped by Lake Ikeda, which became famous in the "The Great East Japan Earthquake" and learned for the first time that this was the lake that was all over the news when I was a kid! I was surprised to learn for the first time that the lake I had heard about on the news when I was a child was here!
In this vicinity, the temperatures are very high.Even though it was the end of the year, the outside temperature gauge on the Boxster read between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius. The weather is warm and sunny. The breeze and the smell are both spring-like and full of tropical moods.
When we arrived at Mt. Kaimon, we were told that the area was designated as Kaimon Sanroku Nature Park and that we could reach the third station by driving along a toll road on the mountainside. When I asked the man at the toll booth if I wanted to go around Mt.The south side of the mountain is narrow, so you shouldn't go there in such a fine sports car.He said.
Although it was not on my schedule, I decided to pay the fee and climb Mt. After passing the tollgate, we saw many horses called Tokara horses running free here and there. It was not a road that made me want to fly, but the scenery was so beautiful that I decided to take it.Toll road ideal for slow cruisingIt is like that.
We parked our car and took a break at one of the many observation spots. We passed a few groups of tourists, but there were almost no people, so we could take our time.
Leaving Mt. Kaimondake behind, we drove west along the Nansatsu Panorama Line. This road stretches straight through the countryside and is very pleasant. The Boxster is more suited to roads with many curves, but it is also nice to drive slowly on a straight road like this with the car in the open.
There are many wide-area farm roads in this area, which is good for those who like straight roads.
I should have made more stops, but I was so pleasantly surprised to be able to run at my own pace that I ended up running too fast.Go north again using K262. Run Ibusuki Skyrun again.
I enjoyed the road so much that I changed my plans and ended up driving it on the return trip. This road makes me wish I could drive GT3.It really is a great road, and the toll for this is 100 yen, which is too cheap.
I'd like to drive it even if I had to pay 4,000 yen (laughs). Ibusuki Skyline is such a road.
As we stopped at a few observation points scattered around the island, Sakurajima, which had been cloudy and dull in the morning, peeked out. Sakurajima, which I had not seen in a long time, seemed to have a sense of power, or rather, a sense of pressure. I prayed for a safe trip and prosperity for the rest of my life as I gazed at Sakurajima, which seemed more powerful than the other mountains.
After that, we cruised down the highway with Sakurajima on our right. Since we had a very productive ride today, we headed back to the hotel early. We proceeded to Miyakonojo City, where our lodging for the day was located.

This area is my parents' house. I miss the Taniyama IC, Ibusuki Skyline, Mt. I am in Kanagawa now, but when my 992 is delivered and the Corona disaster is over, I would like to go to drive the Ibusuki Skyline with my 992 someday.
