To a driving event hosted by 911DAYS
As I tweeted a bit on twitter, last week, on Sunday, March 24thDriving event held by 911DAYS at Fuji SpeedwayI participated in the "Porsche Day" in Nagoya, Japan. The Porsche specialty store in Nagoya, where my husband bought his 964C2 last year.WRPI had been invited to this event for some time by Mr. Suga, the president of(Mr. WRP participates in this event every year)
And this time, it was the spring break period for my daughter's kindergarten, so my husband was able to "get theSince we're here, would you like to come and see it with us?He said, "I'm going to go there with my family of four, including my daughters.
My husband was a member of a group that last DecemberDrove the Boxster GTS at Suzuka CircuitHowever, he regretted that his tires were not in good condition and he could not drive as fast as he wanted. After thatNew tires were installed Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.as a matter of fact
I didn't know tires could change and improve the ride so much.Tires are important after all! I definitely want to drive the Boxster with these tires at Fuji Speedway this time! ...but the Boxster is a 2-seater....so my family of 4 can't physically fit in it...Then let's just go with the Panamera and two cars!
And how crazy!(But it's the best!)Since I had made the suggestion, we decided to head to Fuji Speedway with two cars, a Boxster and a Panamera.
However, I am concerned about the weather on the day of the event. I am, by my own admission and that of others, a woman of rain, fog, and storm, so my husband has told me thatIt will probably rain heavily on the day of the event anyway. And then the event itself will be canceled. The weather was said to be "fine," but to my surprise, this time, the forecast was unexpectedly fine all the time, even when I checked the weekly weather forecast.
Oh...yeah...*sigh*!
Therefore.Depart the day before, March 23 (Saturday), stay at a hotel in Yamanakako, and participate in the Fuji Speedway driving event the next day.We decided to work by arrangement.
No way, weather forecast...
I thought things would go smoothly and without incident, but in fact, things were not so sweet. The day before departure, I checked the weather forecast and found that the weather forecast for Gotemba on Saturday wascloudy with occasional snowIt was changed to "The
...What, snow? (*_*)
The cherry blossoms have been declared to be in full bloom, and April is just around the corner, but what is snowing? But even if it's snowing, it's just a few flurries, right? We didn't bother to put on studless tires, and we set out on the day with two cars as planned.(Air-cooling is staying put.)
On the way, there was heavy traffic on the Meishin Expressway from Kyoto-minami to Otsu, but once we got through that area, to our surprise, it was quite...
We were able to enter Shizuoka Prefecture relatively smoothly. Then, we were able to enter Shizuoka Prefecture. The clouds began to look a little grim, and the rain started to sprinkle.Naturally, we could not see even a millimeter of Mt.
."Well, this is within the scope of the Polish people's expectations.I was driving with a normal mind, thinking, "I've got to get out of here," but when I got off the Gotemba Interchange, the rain began to turn to sleet.
It's finally here... Well, the weather forecast had said snow, so I drove my car without worrying about it, but gradually the sleet began to turn into full-blown snow.
Oh, come on, this is getting a little dangerous.
More and more oncoming cars we passed had snow on their roofs, so I said to myself, "I'm not going to let that happen."So, the direction we are heading now is covered with snow.I was a little worried...
By the time we approached the Kagosaka Pass leading to Lake Yamanaka, there was snow on the ground all around. My husband was driving ahead of me in his Boxster, and he was driving very carefully. You're being awfully cautious.I was just thinking, "I'm so sorry," when I received a phone call from my husband.
Oh man, the Boxster is so slippery. Is the Panamera ok?
And.
The Panamera has four-wheel drive, so this much snow was no problem, butThe mid-ship Boxster was so scary that every time I went around a curve, the tires would take a zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!Yes.
When we finally arrived at the inn, it wasn't a blizzard anymore, butAlready about 2 cm of snowThe children were excited to see the snow piling up. The children were excited to see the snow piling up, but...
Both the Panamera and the Boxster were completely frozen in the face.
Both cars did a great job...thank you. As soon as we checked in and got to our hotel room, my husband was likeI started looking into the road from Yamanakako to Fuji Speedway. However, all roads were closed due to chain restrictions, making it difficult to pass through.
Hey, hey, you'll be okay tomorrow.... My husband was sobbing.
I knew this would happen when I came with Mina. It's not easy.
He was stunned.
I'm really sorry... (*_*)"Hopefully by tomorrow morning the snow will have melted and the chain restrictions will be lifted...The whole family went to bed early that day.
The next morning the snow melted and they made it to Fuji Speedway in one piece!(I could have gotten there, as it turns out...)

Hi Miwa.
It's late March.
I was amazed by the photo at the entrance of the roadside station in Susuri.
It's really coming down, isn't it?
The real uphill begins here.
The chosen route of the old road, Hakone Ura-Kaido (Route 138), is a winding road over a mountain pass with several hairpins.
It's great for touring...
That being said, I'm sorry to hear about your husband!
It must be a very big deal for a Boxster to slip that much, and I can't imagine it.
I'm sure you must have had quite a scary time, but I'm glad to hear that you managed to arrive at your destination on the first day without incident.
First of all, thank you.
Although it may be a result-oriented route, the general route from Suburi to Yamanakako and Kawaguchi lakes
It might have been better to choose the Higashi-Fuji-Goko Road (toll).
It has more traffic than the Hakone Ura-Kaido, has no tight curves, has two lanes on each side for the uphill, and can be passed through a tunnel without going over a mountain pass.
I also go to places I don't often visit by following the route recommended by the navigation system.
Tetsu.
Yes, I did not expect the snow to fall so seriously ^^;

I know...I thought it would be a crazy nice road if it was sunny.

Indeed. On this road, it seemed that it was safe to drive without any chain restrictions that night.
I learned a lot this time (laughs).
