Until the day I can drive a Porsche Boxster GTS (MT) - Vol.3

Will I be able to drive a Boxster...?
Last year, at the beginning of 2017, I set a goal toThis is the year I get to drive a Boxster GTS (MT)!"It was. However, when I opened the door, I found that I had driven the Boxster only two or three times during that year. And I didn't even get to drive it.More and more, I'm stepping away from the Boxster GTS.
And at the beginning of this year.I hope to be able to drive a Boxster GTS (MT) this year..."I went to Ashiyu Driveway twice with a faint desire in my heart, but the car ended up stalling all over the place, I couldn't start up a slope, and I put too much power into "R (reverse)" when I meant to put it in first gear. All sorts of impossible and unusual things happen.I was about to give up, thinking, "I can't drive a manual transmission anymore..."
So, when I drove the Boxster, I felt like I was driving like this, or like I was driving like this.
I've never experienced such a rush.
One day, a blog reader who knows the joys of driving a manual transmission (MT) sent me a message.
Don't say that, just go for it!" It would be really fun to be able to drive a manual transmission! It would be super cool if a woman could drive a manual transmission!
I was again inspired by the encouraging comments that I received, and w the other day, I asked my mother-in-law to take care of the children, and my husband and I decided to go out to practice together.
Practice in the Ashiu driveway!
On that day, at 11:00 in the morning, all of my husband's friends were going to gather at Ashiu Driveway, so I went with them. They were to practice MT driving in Ashiyu Driveway and Mt. Rokko. However, there are quite a few challenging points from our house to Ashiu Driveway, so my husband decided to drive to the observatory first.
While my husband gave me a lecture on the key points of MT driving. This is the Boxster!"The sound of the wind, the feeling of speed, and the pleasant autumn breeze filled my body....
I'm sure it would feel great to drive like this...no, I mean, to be able to drive like this...but I can't drive up hills...(--)...no, no, no, no! ...but I can't start on a slope...(-_-)...no, no, no, no, I can't keep talking like that! While I was struggling with my own conflicting feelings, the Boxster arrived at the observatory of Ashiyu Driveway in no time.
It was around 9:30 when we arrived, but all of my husband's friends had already gathered.
I've heard of 5 minute notice, but I've never heard of 1.5 hour notice...
It seemed that everyone wanted to drive their own car as soon as possible, so they arrived early. Afterwards, they drove each other's cars and talked about cars.(I also got to ride in the passenger seat of many different cars, which I'll share in another article)We all decided to go to Rokko Garden Terrace for lunch.
Then my husband told you all.
His wife said she was going to drive to Mt. Rokko to practice her MT, so I'll go ahead of her because I'll be driving at a slow pace.
He said plainly.
...... eh...!
"Are you serious, ma'am? Well, I'll see you out until you leave the parking lot!"My husband and I quickly got into the Boxster to check the seat position and steering wheel position.
Let's see, gears are 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th... 3rd, 2nd, 1st.... Wait a minute, one more time, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th...3rd, 2nd, 1st.... And this is back. Let's see, first step on the clutch and brake...
And when I was slowing down, my husband said to meForget about it, just move it!"So I started the Boxster with my mind blank.
(Stiffly tense figure↑)
Step on the accelerator pedal a little and ease off the clutch while listening to the sound. When the clutch is connected and the car begins to move, drive straight through the parking lot at half-clutch.
...Oh, Holy shit, I might be surprised.
Feeling good, I left the parking lot and drove to Mt. There was a toll booth on the way, but I managed to clear it.
It's slow to step on the clutch and change gears!"
Now it's better to give it a little gas pedal pressure so the gearshift shock doesn't occur and it goes smoothly."
You're not very good at downshifting."
And, despite all the side comments, once we get going, it's all ours.
"Let's keep the momentum going and put it in 3rd and 4th gear!"It was a short time before I thought that I was going to be able to make it. A minivan appeared in front of us. The minivan was driving so slowly that the speedometer read 25km/h while the following cars were following one after another.
...Oh, come on, you're lying (-_-)
It is true that the road to Rokko has tight curves, but 25km/h is indeed too slow. Nevertheless, I thought he would put on his hazard and give way at some point. The minivan continued to drive at a trot for about 15 minutes all the way to the Rokkosan Garden Terrace, showing no signs of giving way.
A Boxster is coming up behind us, and we have the roof open, and we're both wearing sunglasses.(That's not the point.)Even so, he is able to continue running at 25 km/h, his strong mentality.
It is rather admirable.
Rokko, running!
Rokkosan Garden Terrace is quite crowded at lunch time, and by the time you enter the parking lotStop and go."It was a series of "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry," but it was good practice. I was a little nervous about the part where I had to get a parking ticket because it was a subtle uphill slope that did not apply HOLD, but I managed to clear it. However, parking in the midst of following cars was a hurdle, so I had to help my husband...
And on the way home. Behind me.My husband's friends' Ferrari California, Ferrari 488, Lamborghini Urracan, and Porsche 911GT3, and somehow I ended up leading them.I was pretty nervous and
The car stalled once when starting up a hill at a traffic light during construction, but somehow recovered and was able to drive up and down Mt.
I don't mean that I ran, I just drove....
My husband told me that
Why do you cut the wheel in the middle of a curve like that? I mean, why do you misjudge the curve so much every time?
Don't rush to run away just because there's a car following you. Your mental state shows too much in your driving.
And yet...I've never had a better day in my life. I feel like I'm finally at the starting line.I got a last-minute OK from the company, which gave me a little confidence. And most importantly, I was able to experience about 2% of the fun of MT driving.'It would be really fun if I could control my manual transmission driving! I want to get better at it!"I could think for the first time.
Let's keep the momentum going and have my mother in law babysit and drive next month!
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step!
