I applied for an international driver's license to go to the US! -The process of obtaining the license is summarized here.

international license
My Family's Car Life

(4) Regarding the driver's license

As for the license.

Valid for 1 year from the date of issue
2Valid for driving a specific type of vehicle (regular car, two-wheeled or three-wheeled vehicle)
3Can be operated in Geneva Convention member countries (96 countries, 2 administrative regions)
4Return the license to the nearest license renewal center or police station immediately upon expiration or revocation.

and that the Geneva Conventions do not include the Geneva Conventions. And the Geneva Conventions includeChina, Taiwan, Switzerland, Germanyand other countries are not members, so even if you have a previously obtained and valid international driver's license, it would be a good idea to check it once.

Incidentally, in the case of Germany, theIf you have a Japanese driver's license and its German translation, or both a Japanese driver's license and an international driver's license, you can drive for six months."Yes.

There's a lot going on.

However, will I be able to drive it properly?

I applied for an international license this time, and it was very easy to apply for and was issued on the same day.(I thought it was a pain in the ass like applying for a passport)I thought that if I were to go abroad in the future, I would acquire it each time.
Well, unless you actually drive abroad.(Don't you ever do that?)Even if my husband should ever be unable to drive, it would be safer for me to have a license.

However, when I tweeted the other day on Twitter that I had gotten my international driver's license

Be careful~, people in the U.S. don't "might-drive", so we have to be very careful. You don't think he'll come out at this time, do you? → He's not going to come through this gap, is he? → I'd rather guess, but they'll try to get in.

The reply was ((((; ))))

Oh no, I'm scared. I'll only be allowed to drive on empty roads in the countryside (blast).

    Hello.
Are you going to San Fran?
I returned to Japan at the end of May, but was in San Fran and San Jose until yesterday on another business trip.
San Francisco is good. Different from other cities in the US.
It's quaint and the food is delicious.
But the roads are narrow and hilly, and thanks to the traffic jams....
They say it is a challenge to get out of the city center of San Fran, no matter where you go.
You can subtract that. Cross the Golden Gate and go to the mountain (hill?) on the other side. from the other side of the mountain (hill?)
The view looking down is very beautiful.
This may not be your first time, but I hope you will enjoy it.

Oh, you were in San Francisco until yesterday!
My husband is also a big fan of San Francisco, and I've never been there (I've only landed at the airport in transit...), so when I hear it's such a nice city, I'm looking forward to going there now. The streets are narrow, and the hills... (laughs) I would love to see the view from the Golden Gate Bridge - I've only seen it on postcards, so it's a sight you can't see in Japan.
I wonder if the climate is comfortable, it seems cooler than in Japan. I will take a lot of pictures and post them on my blog.

    Hello.

I too was very nervous when I first drove in Florida.
Like, if a school bus is stopped, you have to stop, even if you're in the opposite lane.
The laws are different from those in Japan, for example, right turns can be made even when the traffic light is red.

The fact that they are not afraid to try right-hand traffic and left-hand steering is a good thing.
    It's great.
