Sightseeing in LA in a Mercedes-Benz GLS450 - how it feels to ride and how it differs from a Porsche.

My Family's Car Life

Impressions of Mercedes-Benz GLS450 (2) - (5)

So what about power, braking, ride comfort, etc.?

(2) Power

Power is provided by a 3.0LV6 twin turbo, which is sufficient for the needs. Acceleration at startup and on hills is also sufficient. However, due to the weight and size of the vehicle, it did not have the acceleration that one would experience in a Porsche. However, I have never test driven a Cayenne, so I am not sure how SUVs compare to each other, and I am sure it will be very different when I drive a GLS63.

incidentallyI was wondering if Porsche's acceleration is still better than Macan's. "My brother-in-law used to own Macan Turbo and he said, 'Macan's acceleration is awesome! I wonder if Porsche's acceleration is still more amazing? He replied, "Well, yes. But the Macan is a compact SUV and the GLS is bigger, so it's hard to say.

(3) Brake control

The brakes are easy to control from low to high speeds. The brakes are very effective for a large vehicle weighing about 2.5 tons, and even though it is heavy, it stops very quickly. The Toyota 4RUNNER was difficult to brake, and it was scary because it did not brake at first, but when you stepped on it hard, it suddenly started to brake. The 4Runnner is fine for city driving, but the GLS is definitely better for driving on highways and various other roads.

(4) Ride comfort

The official website states. It provides optimum ride comfort on rough roads and off-road." It provides a smooth ride even in the California desert."It was written that it was a good ride and they had no complaints whatsoever. However, having sat in the back seat the entire time, I did not find the ride as comfortable as I would have liked. Driving in comfort mode, theIt's kind of like being on a bus.And it was indeed smooth but shaky.

However, when the sport mode is selected, the suspension is firmer and the shaking is suppressed, and I felt that the ride is more comfortable. However, this is a matter of personal preference. For me, it is a matter of personal preference. The Porsche's ride is dry, with a firm grip on the road and a click to absorb impact.I think I felt the above way about the GLS because I like the

(5) Rigidity of the body

The rigidity of the body is as expected of a German car. So I was able to ride the car with peace of mind from start to finish. A friend of mine once told meHis wife usually drives an SUV with the kids, but we chose the GLS because of its solid body, just in case there was an accident.I thought I understood why.

These are my impressions after driving the GLS450 and comparing it a bit with the Porsche. This makes me want to test drive the new Cayenne even more. When I get back to Japan, I might go and test drive a Cayenne...lol!(By the way, as for Cayenne, I only went to the new Cayenne debut fair before.)
