New Porsche 911 (Type 992) Manual Transmission
In today's Porsche news. The new 911 (992) can now be ordered with a 7-speed manual transmission in the 911 Carrera S and 4S models. The announcement was made.
Currently, orders can only be placed primarily in the European market, but MT will be available for selection at no additional cost.
Features of the new manual transmission
It consists of a dual mass flywheel and dual disc clutch (self-adjusting).Rev-match function (auto-blipping) enabled in both SPORT mode and SPORT PLUS modeBecomes.
As with the manual transmission model, the PTV is equipped with a mechanical locking rear differential. The 911 Carrera S weighs 1,480 kg, which seems to be 45 kg lighter than the PDK version.
Changes from model year 2021
They are also adding new features to the 911 for this new model year (2021) that were not previously available on the 911. They are already offered on the Panamera and Cayenne.Innodrive."andNew Smart Lift feature on front axle(Optional)These include.
InnoDrive
This option has been available since the introduction of the 971 Panamera, and now it is also available for the 992. Incidentally, Panamera's Innodrive is not available in Japan. I personally believe that it is unlikely to be introduced in the Japanese market this time as well due to the map information.
This InnoDrive is aAdaptive cruise control enhancementsIt is. It uses map data from the navigation system to calculate the optimal acceleration and deceleration values for the next 3 km. The system takes into account corners and gradients, and automatically controls the engine, PDK, and brakes to help make driving smoother.
Smart Lift Function
This smart lift feature on the front axle allows the front end to lift automatically at the push of a button, butGPS remembers its location and automatically lifts the front end when it approaches the location again(40 mm) system.
This is a feature that Tesla and others have also equipped with, and I think it is very useful.
New Tire Temperature Control System
Tire temperature management system (new tyre temperature indicator) introduced on the Turbo S as a new feature of the Sport Chrono Package. The blue bar is displayed when the tire temperature is low. This means that if the tire temperature is low, a blue bar is displayed to warn of reduced grip. As the tires warm up, the color of the indicator changes to blue-white, and then to white when the tires are warmed up and maximum grip is achieved.
Lightweight and Noise Insulated Glass
If this is selected, all glass, including the windshield and rear glass, will be changed, and the weight will be reduced by more than 4 kg.Moreover, it is effective in reducing road noise and wind noise. When I test drove the 992 before, I was somewhat concerned about the road noise from the tires, so if you prefer a quieter car, you may want to choose this one.
Leather Package 930" introduced with the 911 Turbo S is now available for selection.
Also new this year, the 911 Turbo style "Leather Package 930″ is now available as an option. This is inspired by the first Porsche 911 Turbo (Type 930) and, if selected, will result in an interior design that harmoniously blends colors, materials, and individual enhancements.
The package includes front and rear quilted seat center panels, quilted door panels, and other rich leather trim from the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur portfolio.
How will it be introduced to the Japanese market?
So far, there has been no announcement of any introduction in the Japanese market.I have heard from someone at Porsche Japan that the 992 is unlikely to introduce a manual transmission vehicle.
It was a long time ago that I heard about this, so I don't know what the situation is now, but in any case, given Porsche Japan's recent trend of eliminating MT and left-hand drive, we may not expect much.
However, my husband was not a fan of this.
Porsche cars are very hobbyist cars.I sincerely hope that the introduction of MT vehicles will be positively considered. It is true that the numbers may not sell in Japan, but there is a certain amount of old-fashioned "I've been in Japan for a long time.Porsche puristexists.
I don't think there should be any unfairness in the choice of cars with users in other markets, just because of the logic of numbers and efficiency.
I urge you not to betray them. I am the last of those purists, but through my blog, I would like to ask Porsche Japan to do the same.
He said.
I hope the 992 MT car will be introduced to Japan.

Hello. - Hello.
I always enjoy looking at your site.
I couldn't help but comment where I was concerned as well.
I don't have good information about the PDK-based 7-speed manual transmission that started with the 991, but what is the actual situation?
I have never seen an actual car equipped with the system, nor have I heard any firsthand opinions because no one around me has driven one.
Looking forward to your test drive sometime!

I see!!! I have never been on one and would love to drive one.
If I get a chance to ride, I will blog about it again ^^^.
Left-hand drive is not desired.
But finally, MT will no longer be introduced.
I wonder if it is...
Porsche, you too! I guess so.
Then, with the change of PJ's president, MT and left hand
He said we might be able to expect a change in policy on the exclusion of Le.
I've heard about this, but I'm not sure how reliable it is.
I wonder. I'm just talking about the people involved.
But I wonder if it is wishful thinking.
Aston Martin has an optional manual transmission.
I was able to get a good feeling for the new generation of people.
I am the one who needs the car to be MT.
I can't afford to buy another car.
If I let go of my current cars, I'll end up with a light
I will only be able to ride tigers lol.
Mr. Whooper.
MT cars in Japan, what will happen to them...
Surely we can expect that since the president was replaced last year (I hope so W)?
>Aston Martin has a MT option.
>I'm not sure how much I can do to help.
Oh, yeah!!!
Once you've been seduced by a manual transmission vehicle.
You can't really leave...
I, too, still end up driving my beloved 320i MT car.
>If I let go of my current cars, I'll end up with a light
I'm going to be able to ride only >trains lol.
